However, excessive use of Scutellaria barbata can cause damage to the liver and kidneys. Therefore, do not buy it and use it by yourself. It is relatively safe to use it under the guidance of a doctor. In addition to treating external injuries, it can also clear away heat and detoxify, promote diuresis and reduce swelling, and lower blood pressure. Although it is a traditional Chinese medicine, the dosage should be used with caution, and it must be used together with other medicinal herbs.

Half-leaf lotus is a medicine, not a health product. Therefore, healthy people are best not to eat it. The effects of half-lotus can treat trauma, back pain, and suppress the growth of cancer cells. However, everyone should understand that it is a medicine. If healthy people take this medicine for a long time, it may affect the body. Those in need can use half-lotus to recuperate.

The efficacy of half lotus:

First, half lotus can clear away heat and detoxify. If it is decocted and taken alone, it can be used to treat carbuncles and swellings. If it is combined with other medicines, it can also be used to treat cancer, hepatitis and other diseases.

Second, half-lotus has a diuretic and detumescent effect. Therefore, people with edema can use it to make tea. People with ascites due to liver cirrhosis, acute and chronic nephritis can also take half-lotus.

Third, half lotus can also lower blood pressure and has a good effect in treating hypertension.

Fourth, half lotus can disperse blood stasis and resolve phlegm.

Fifth, half lotus has antibacterial effect and can suppress bacteria such as Clostridium difficile and Escherichia coli.

Pharmacological effects of half lotus:

1. Antibacterial effect:

Using the flat plate trenching method, a 50% decoction of Scutellaria barbata has an inhibitory effect on Staphylococcus aureus, Shigella flexneri, Salmonella typhi, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, and Escherichia coli.

2. Antispasmodic and expectorant effects:

The safflower contained in this product has a strong anti-contraction effect on smooth muscle caused by histamine and has a good expectorant effect.

3. Anti-tumor effect:

This product has a very mild inhibitory effect on acute myeloid leukemia cells; screening experiments using the cell respirator method have shown that the inhibition rate on acute myeloid leukemia blood cells is greater than 75%.

4.Immunomodulatory effect:

The polysaccharide contained in this product can promote ConA-induced mouse spleen cell lymphocyte transformation in vitro, and its optimal concentration is 400r/ml. Sc administration for one week significantly increased the percentage of esterase-positive cells in peripheral blood lymphocytes of mice and promoted DNCB-induced delayed-type hypersensitivity reactions. However, high-dose administration (200 mg/kg) can inhibit the thymus index of mice and has no effect on the spleen index.
