Why do you keep coughing?

When walking on the road, it is easy to hear children coughing. I have been wondering why children always cough and what causes it. Is it because children’s immunity is very low and the air pollution is so serious that children have respiratory infections and cough? Or maybe children like to eat candy, and eating too much candy will cause discomfort in their throats, so they cough subconsciously? Or maybe it is something else. It seems difficult to explain at the moment.

I have thought about it for a long time, but I still don't know why I am always coughing. Coughing makes people feel very uncomfortable, but how can I feel better? Just like what the advertisement says, coughing is not good, it is uncomfortable, right? But why do I keep coughing? It should be considered from a scientific perspective.

Cough is a protective reflex action of the human body. Pathological secretions in the respiratory tract and foreign objects that enter the respiratory tract from the outside can be expelled from the body through the cough reflex. However, if the cough is frequent and irritating and affects work and rest, it loses its protective significance.

The causes of the disease are as follows: first, respiratory diseases. Inhalation of irritating gases in various parts of the respiratory tract, such as the pharynx, larynx, trachea, bronchi and lungs, foreign bodies, inflammation, tumors, bleeding and other irritations can all cause coughing. Second, pleural diseases , pleurisy or pleural irritation (such as spontaneous pneumothorax) can cause cough. Third, heart disease , such as mitral stenosis or left ventricular failure due to other reasons, leading to pulmonary congestion and pulmonary edema, can cause cough. Cough and hemoptysis may also occur when pulmonary embolism is caused by thrombi detaching from the right heart or systemic circulation veins. Fourth, central factors . Coughing can also originate from the cerebral cortex (voluntary cough). At this time, impulses are sent from the cerebral cortex to the medullary cough center, causing coughing movements.

Only by knowing what causes the cough can we solve the problem of constant coughing. Although coughing is very uncomfortable, children who know nothing may use it to protect themselves and prevent foreign objects from hurting their respiratory tract. Therefore, don’t be afraid. Constant coughing may not be a disease at all, but just a form of self-protection.
