Why are my eyelids always swollen recently?

Swollen eyes are not a common phenomenon in daily life, but they will occur if you cry for a long time. If there is no clear cause for the eye swelling, we should pay attention to it. It may be caused by a disease. Kidney disease will have similar characteristics. We can have a comprehensive understanding and figure out our condition as soon as possible. So, why are my eyelids always swollen recently? Let’s take a look below.

Edema, also known as edema, is caused by excessive accumulation of water throughout the body or in a certain part of the body. Many people have experienced puffy eyelids or legs and feet when waking up in the morning. Some people don’t take it seriously, while others get very nervous.

Some edema is physiological, not caused by disease, and is closely related to lifestyle, such as not exercising much during the day, not paying attention to physical exercise, blindly losing weight, irregular sleep or lack of sleep, excessive drinking, wearing too tight stockings, wearing high heels, maintaining a posture for a long time, etc. If you change your lifestyle and eating habits and take appropriate measures, the swelling will be reduced or disappear. Edema is more common in women than in men because female hormone secretion undergoes cyclical changes. Edema before menstruation is called premenstrual edema, which generally does not require special treatment.

When edema is accompanied by other discomforts, you should pay attention as it may be caused by an illness. Kidney disease is an important cause of edema because the regulation of water in the body is mainly completed by the kidneys. If accompanied by changes in urine volume and color, foam in the urine, lower back pain, etc., kidney disease should be considered, and further urine and kidney function tests are needed. Other diseases that can cause edema include heart disease, liver disease, malnutrition, thyroid disease, filariasis, etc. Some drugs, such as hormones, certain antihypertensive drugs, morphine, etc., can cause edema, which will disappear after stopping the drug.

Many details in life cause swelling of eyelids and feet. People should face swelling positively and understand this problem objectively. Don't ignore it because it is small, and don't worry about it because of fear. Generally, the sunken phenomenon is a manifestation of minor swelling. It can be solved by doing more activities and promoting blood circulation.
