Five month old baby shivers while drinking milk

Five month old baby shivers while drinking milk
Sometimes, the baby is five months old, but still shivers when breastfeeding. In this case, mothers should not panic, as it may be caused by calcium deficiency. You can supplement the child with calcium appropriately, take the baby out more often, and bask in the sun, which is good for the baby. It may also be that the baby has just woken up and lacks strength. Therefore, when the baby trembles while feeding, mothers should pay attention to observe the baby's condition. If the situation is serious, they need to go to the hospital for treatment.

1. The baby's nervous system is not yet fully developed, and occasional shaking is normal. If shivering still occurs frequently as the baby grows older, it is recommended to go to the hospital for a blood calcium test to determine whether there is calcium deficiency. Calcium supplementation is needed. Calcium gluconate can be taken orally and combined with vitamin D to promote calcium absorption. Sunbathing can also supplement calcium, so go out and sunbathe more often. If a two- to five-month-old baby trembles while drinking milk, it may be because the child's gastroesophageal tube is not fully developed, and it is easy for the baby to feel uncomfortable when drinking milk. This phenomenon may be caused by unstable eating time, improper feeding method, or too large nipples and excessive swallowing of gas. Correct way to breastfeed: 1. Hold the baby and lay him/her at a 45-degree angle. When feeding, make sure the milk in the bottle fills the nipple. When breastfeeding, the baby's mouth should cover the nipple completely so that he/she does not inhale too much air. 2. When the child is halfway through feeding or has finished feeding, you can pick him up and put him on your shoulder, and pat his back to relieve the gas. 3. For children who are prone to spitting up milk, you can put a pillow on the left side after feeding, so that the child lies on the right side.

4. Do not feed too much milk each time, as this may cause vomiting or indigestion. So when feeding, if the baby stops sucking, you can try again a few times. If he still doesn't eat, don't force-feed him. He will naturally eat more next time.

If a three or five-month-old baby shivers only once while drinking milk, it cannot be diagnosed as epilepsy. There must be at least two or more episodes before it can be considered whether it is epilepsy. Because epilepsy is recurrent, it means that after the first attack, there will definitely be a second, third, or even multiple attacks after a period of time. Even the most common convulsion, if it only occurs once, is not recurrent and cannot be diagnosed as epilepsy. Of course, the treatment of epilepsy also needs to be closely combined with the electroencephalogram. If the EEG shows obvious and typical epileptic discharges and the diagnosis of epilepsy is relatively certain, then there is a high possibility of a second or third seizure after the first one. Whether to conduct anti-epileptic treatment requires weighing the pros and cons, seeking the opinions of family members, and making comprehensive considerations. There is also a type of sporadic epilepsy, in which the patient may only have one or two episodes in his or her lifetime, and there will be no recurrence without treatment. Such patients do not necessarily have to be diagnosed with epilepsy, but clinical observation should be made. Once epilepsy is diagnosed, timely treatment should be sought to avoid unexpected harm caused by epileptic seizures. To treat epilepsy, you must go to a professional hospital and receive professional treatment in time so as not to delay the disease. The treatment of epilepsy is different from the treatment of other diseases. Do not seek medical treatment randomly when you are sick. Improper treatment may cause the condition to worsen.
