What is the cause of bubbles in stool?

Stool appears after people eat food, which is digested by the intestines and absorbed by the body. Normal and healthy stools should be slightly sticky and have a foul odor, but some people have stools that are too dry, and some people find that their stools have a lot of bubbles and a sour and smelly smell. Let’s take a look at what causes bubbles in the stool.

If there is foam in the stool, it is likely that you have indigestion. There are too many food residues, which are fermented and gasified by bacteria in the intestines, causing the stool to be mixed with foam. You can take some medicines to improve gastric motility.

At the same time, you should also develop good eating habits, eat regularly, eat small meals frequently, and eat soft foods that are easily digestible. Avoid eating raw, cold, hard, rough, greasy, or fiber-rich foods. Avoid overeating. Avoid drinking strong tea, coffee, alcohol, etc.; eat less foods that easily cause bloating, such as potatoes, sweet potatoes, onions, boiled soybeans, etc. Quit smoking and avoid eating spicy food.

Normal bowel movement

1. Judging from the color of the stool: Under normal circumstances, human feces are yellowish brown and generally cylindrical. Light brown and golden yellow stools are also normal for infants and young children. If black stools or black bloody stools with mucus appear, it is likely caused by upper gastrointestinal bleeding, that is, there is a problem with the stomach, duodenum, etc. such as duodenal ulcers, gastritis or even intestinal cancer.

2. In terms of the frequency of bowel movements: It is normal to defecate once a day or once every two to three days. It is also normal for people with different physical conditions to defecate once every four or five days. However, if you do not have a bowel movement for four or five days and experience symptoms such as difficulty in defecation and dry stools, then it is likely caused by constipation. There are many reasons for constipation. In addition to intestinal diseases, anal diseases such as hemorrhoids and anal fissures can also cause constipation.

3. In terms of stool odor: people who like to eat meat have stronger stool odor, while vegetarians have relatively lighter stool odor. People with chronic enteritis, especially those suffering from rectal cancer, will have foul-smelling stools.
