Vaginal ultrasound and hysteroscopy are both very common in gynecological examinations, but many people cannot distinguish between them. In fact, vaginal ultrasound refers to B-ultrasound from the vagina, which is generally an ultrasound. It is used to check the shape and size of the uterus and ovaries, and whether there are any abnormal masses. Hysteroscopy is used to check the situation inside the uterus to see if there are any lesions or polyps inside the uterus. There is still a big difference between the two. Under what circumstances is transvaginal ultrasound necessary? 1. The pregnancy is relatively early. Abdominal B-ultrasound can usually detect the development of the fetal heart and fetal buds at 50-60 days of pregnancy, while vaginal ultrasound can detect the development of the fetal heart and fetal buds one week earlier than abdominal B-ultrasound and accurately determine the gestational age. If you are a pregnant mother and need to be tested at an early stage, the best choice is transvaginal ultrasound. 2. Vaginal bleeding or abdominal pain in the early stages of pregnancy If the mother experiences persistent vaginal bleeding or abdominal pain in the early stages of pregnancy, it is very likely an ectopic pregnancy or a precursor to miscarriage. At this time, the pregnant mother needs to go to the hospital for a transvaginal ultrasound examination as soon as possible to avoid serious consequences. 3. People at high risk of ectopic pregnancy: If a woman has undergone multiple artificial abortions or medical abortions, or has used emergency contraceptives, or has obstructed fallopian tubes, the probability of an ectopic pregnancy during pregnancy is high, and she needs to act with caution. Under what circumstances is hysteroscopy necessary? Ultrasound examination is performed for patients with abnormal endometrial thickness or morphology, such as suspected polyps, intrauterine adhesions, and other abnormal ultrasound manifestations. Ultrasound shows that the endometrium is normal, but two or more embryo implantation failures occur. Depending on the condition of the endometrium, uterine cavity preparation may be performed before embryo transfer if necessary. If there is a history of spontaneous abortion, multiple induced abortions, scanty menstruation, pelvic tuberculosis, etc., a hysteroscopy can be performed before embryo transfer to rule out endometrial problems. When laparoscopic surgery is required before in vitro fertilization, a hysteroscopy should be performed at the same time as appropriate, and a laparoscopic fallopian tube patency test should be performed in conjunction. Precautions after hysteroscopy You don’t need to stay in bed after surgery, but you should avoid overexertion. No sexual intercourse or bathing for two weeks after surgery; Antibiotics are required after surgery to prevent infection. Please indicate any history of drug allergy; Most patients with intrauterine adhesions will have an intrauterine device (IUD) or biological material placed to reduce the chance of re-adhesion. After surgery, they can take estrogen plus progesterone to facilitate the repair of the endometrium. Check up on time, usually after the first menstrual period after surgery. Checking up on time is the guarantee of the effectiveness of the surgery. |
