Can children drink tea?

Drinking tea is beneficial for many adults, but it is not suitable for preschool children. Because the tannic acid and theanolide contained in tea can inhibit the absorption of trace elements in children's bodies. If children drink tea frequently, they will lack trace elements, leading to malnutrition. Therefore, it is not suitable for preschool children of a few years old to drink tea.

1. Why is it not suitable for children to drink tea?

1. Because tea contains substances such as theanine, it is easy to excite the central nervous system of the human body. However, the bodies of infants and young children are in the development stage, and the nervous systems have a weak ability to inhibit substances with excitatory effects.

2. Children's body self-regulation function is relatively low. After drinking tea, children may experience faster heartbeat, which may lead to excessive physical exertion. Especially when drinking tea at night, it may also cause insomnia, frequent urination and other problems in children, affecting their sleep and thus development.

3. Tea contains tannic acid and theanolide. Once these two ingredients enter the human body, they will inhibit the child's body's absorption of some trace elements, such as calcium, zinc, iron, etc. If children drink too much tea or strong tea, it may lead to a lack of trace elements in the body and even malnutrition. In addition, the content of tea polyphenols is too high, which can easily interact with the iron in food. It is not conducive to the absorption of iron and can easily cause iron deficiency anemia in children.

4. Generally, tea has a diuretic function. After children drink tea, during the diuretic process, tannic acid and theanolide will cause the loss of minerals such as calcium and phosphorus, thereby affecting the body's absorption of nutrients.

2. Who is not suitable for drinking tea?

The advantages of tea are that it is refreshing, diuretic, and helps excrete toxins from our bodies. However, some of us are not recommended to drink tea. Menopausal women and the elderly should try not to drink or drink less tea, as it will take away calcium from our bodies and cause osteoporosis. It is still okay to drink it appropriately. Generally speaking, people who drink tea regularly have a reduced sensitivity to tea and it will not affect their sleep. Everything has two sides. It depends on the person and the condition of the patient. For example, pregnant women, breastfeeding mothers, children, people with gastric ulcers, neurasthenia, and those with weak bodies and cold stomachs should not drink strong tea, otherwise it will aggravate the symptoms. Therefore, when making a choice, you must use your own physical health as the evaluation standard, and do not bring unexpected harm to your body because of a temporary hobby.

3. Which drinks are good for children's health?

You can give your children more vegetable juice and fruit juice on a daily basis. These drinks are good for children's physical development and have no side effects on the body. In addition, give your children more warm water. Boiled water is best for children. When boiling water, you can boil it for more than 3 minutes before turning off the heat.
