Big toe numbness

Big toe numbness

There are many reasons for numbness of the big toe. If the numbness is caused by long-term pressure, there is no need to worry too much. However, if it is caused by poor peripheral blood circulation, peripheral neuritis, lumbar disc herniation, cervical spondylosis or acute gout, the patient needs to pay enough attention and actively go to the hospital for examination and treatment. Below we will introduce in detail the causes and treatment methods of big toe numbness!

1. Causes of numbness in the big toe:

1. Numbness in the big toe is one of the symptoms of numbness in the hands and feet, which is usually caused by poor peripheral blood circulation. This normal phenomenon often occurs in our daily life. For example, if we cross our legs for a long time, our thighs will feel numb. Numbness in the big toe may also be caused by prolonged pressure from external objects. If your big toe is numb for a long time, it may be caused by a disease. Please go to the hospital for treatment as soon as possible.

2. It may be peripheral neuritis. Peripheral neuritis is a general term for multiple peripheral nerve damage caused by various reasons, manifested as symmetrical sensory, motor and autonomic dysfunction in the distal limbs, so it is also called multiple neuritis or multiple peripheral neuritis.

3. Lumbar disc herniation, lumbar spinal stenosis, spondylolisthesis, spinal tumors, poor blood circulation, cold, and moisture may all cause numbness in the legs and feet.

4. It may be caused by cervical spondylosis compressing the nerves.

5. It may be an acute gouty joint.

2. Countermeasures:

1. Soak your feet in hot water every night.

2. Correct your sitting posture, don’t hunch your back, and keep your back straight.

3. Eat more vegetables and fruits, which can not only help you maintain your figure but also supplement vitamins.

4. Preventive self-massage can be performed - rubbing the waist, so that the blood circulation of the waist is good, the flexibility of the muscles is improved, and it has a certain effect on preventing low back pain and lumbar disc herniation. The specific method is: after rubbing the two hands together until they are hot, press the waist tightly, rub it down to the coccyx part, and then retreat to the end of the back bend of the two buttocks to count as one time. Rub it hard 30-50 times in total. In addition, lightly clench your fists with both hands, and gently tap the waist with the fist holes or the back of the fists, or clench your fists with both hands, and massage the waist with the back of the hand knuckles, or you can pinch the waist muscles with both hands, starting from the end of the back bend of the two buttocks, and pinch down to the lower end of the sacrum, back and forth 10 times; when pinching, pinch the waist muscles with the two thumbs, index fingers and middle fingers, push the thumbs from top to bottom, and move the index and middle fingers down to let the muscles roll, and pinch 1 to 2 times a day.

5. Prevention should be the priority, such as strengthening labor protection, preventing metal and pesticide poisoning, and using furan drugs as little as possible (if they are necessary, vitamin B drugs can be taken at the same time). If neurological symptoms and signs are found, the cause should be eliminated as soon as possible, neurotrophic function should be improved, and physical fitness should be strengthened.

6. If you have gout, you can try pinching it.

7. If you are really worried, it is recommended to go to the hospital for examination.

3. Dietary precautions

You should pay attention to your diet and eat more vegetables or meat that promote blood circulation, and solve the problem of toe numbness through diet therapy.
