Physiological characteristics A perennial herb with a often tall main stem. The underground tuber is taro-like, oval to ovate-elliptical, and covered with small brown-black fish scales. 1 to 7 leaves (related to maturity); leaf stems are thick and fleshy, often with light pink or blue-purple stripes on the bottom, up to 40 cm long; leaves are triangular-ovate, halberd-shaped, or ovate-broad-elliptical, 10 to 40 cm long and 7 to 30 cm wide, curling inward like a horn when first sprouted, then spreading out, with the tip gradually pointed. The pedicel emerges from the tuber, and is green with red spots. The spathe is dark purple, with a cylindrical or oblong-ovate tube, gradually pointed and bent at the top, and an ovate eaves, up to 15 cm long. The spadix capitula is located in the spathe, about 14 cm long; the female and neuter capitula are about 3 cm long each; the male capitula is about 2 cm long; the appendage is cylindrical, upright, about 6 cm long, purple, and does not extend outside the spathe. The male flowers are orange-yellow, the pistil has 2 anthers, and the apical hole of the anther chamber is split; the neutral flowers are linear, loose, and light yellow; the female flowers are reddish brown. The fruit is bright red when ripe. The flowering period is from June to August, and the fruiting period is from July to October.Chinese medicine preparation method 1. Raw White Aconitum: remove the residue. 2. Prepare White Aconitum: Take clean White Aconitum, separate it into pieces by size, soak it in water, and change the water in the fish tank 2-3 times a day. If sticky foam appears after a few days, add alum after changing the water in the fish tank (2kg of alum is used for every 100kg of White Aconitum). Soak it for 1 and then change the water in the fish tank again. Remove it when you feel a slight numbness in your tongue. Put ginger slices and alum powder in a pot, add appropriate amount of water, bring to a boil, pour in white aconite and cook until there is no white core, pick it up, remove the ginger slices, dry it to 600-700%, cut into thin slices, and dry it.
