Serous lochia

Serous lochia

Serous lochia generally refers to a large amount of lochia with a lot of serous fluid and a certain bloody color. When examined under a microscope, discolored exudate, relatively large numbers of red blood cells, and cervical exudate can be observed.

Lochia usually refers to the shedding of the uterine membrane after giving birth, and the necrotic and bloody tissue flows out of the vagina. The lochia has a fishy smell, but it usually lasts for about 4 to 6 weeks without the odor. The plasma cell lochia contains a large amount of desquamated tissue and uterine mucus, as well as a small amount of white blood cells and red blood cells. It will last for about 10 days. After 10 days, the serous fluid will gradually decrease and will become white lochia accompanied by an increase in white blood cells. It will be clear in about three weeks.

Lochia is generally divided into three types, including bloody lochia, serous lochia and white lochia. The conditions of lochia that appear at different times will also be different. It is necessary to do a good job of local hygiene care during the discharge of lochia, and it is also necessary to develop the habit of changing sanitary napkins on time. By flushing the local area with clean water, you can keep the vulva clean and hygienic, avoid infection, and produce some adverse reactions.

During the confinement period, one's physical condition is relatively weak, so one needs to choose foods rich in protein and vitamins to enhance one's nutrition, and avoid eating fried and greasy foods.
