Why do I feel itchy inside my bones? Itching inside the bones may be caused by spinal degenerative disease. Most patients with spinal degenerative diseases often have problems with overwork, so it is recommended that patients with spinal degenerative diseases do not stay up late, rest early, and it is very important to ensure a good sleep state. Although degenerative spinal diseases are difficult to treat, don't lose confidence. The English name of spinal degenerative disease is Degeneration of Joint Disease (hereinafter referred to as DJD), also known as osteoarthritis. The main characteristics are bone hyperplasia and thinning of the intervertebral disc. Clinical symptoms include spinal stiffness, pain, and reduced range of motion. Sometimes it is accompanied by dizziness, headache, numbness of the arms, legs and feet, and spinal-related diseases. There are four stages of spinal degeneration. In the first stage, there is aseptic inflammation between the vertebrae, and the patient will have symptoms of pain. At this stage, there are no permanent changes such as bone spurs and disc degeneration, and the chance of nerve root compression is low. It usually starts before the age of 25. In the second stage, the intervertebral disc begins to degenerate, bone spurs begin to appear, and the patient will experience joint stiffness and occasionally dizziness, headache, and numbness in the hands and feet. Neck pain and stiff neck are common occurrences. After getting up in the morning, you will feel a sense of stiffness in your joints, which will only feel normal after some movement. If you sit for a long time, you will experience back pain. This stage usually occurs between the ages of 25 and 45. In the third stage, the intervertebral disc is thinner but has not yet "disappeared"; the bone spur is longer but has not yet "bridged". The above symptoms become more severe and change from intermittent attacks to continuous attacks. Most of them are between 45 and 65 years old. In the fourth stage, one or more intervertebral discs disappear completely and bone spurs begin to bridge. Symptoms are persistent and severe. As the intervertebral disc becomes thinner, the possibility of nerve roots being compressed becomes greater and greater. When the intervertebral disc disappears completely, if the vertebra is compressing the nerve roots, the vertebra cannot be repositioned and surgery is the only option. If the nerve is not compressed, then the vertebra will not compress the nerve. However, the disc above or below the disc will degenerate at a faster rate, increasing the chances of more nerve roots being disturbed. This stage usually occurs in people over 65 years old. Why does such a change occur in the cause of spinal degeneration? We believe that problems with the spinal structure are the main cause of degeneration. First of all, the abnormal structure may begin in infancy, be basically formed in adolescence, become more serious in middle-aged and young people, and be most affected in old age. Almost no one has a completely normal spinal structure, and of course no one can escape the fate of DJD. |
