Why is my mouth always dry?

Why is my mouth always dry?

From a clinical perspective, there are many reasons for a dry mouth, among which weather factors, lack of vitamins in the body, and physical allergies are more common. In addition, cheilitis is also one of the causes of dry mouth. To completely cure this adverse symptom, first of all, do not lick your mouth with your tongue all the time, wear a mask when going out, and massage your lips frequently. Finally, you need to pay attention to using scissors to cut the broken skin on your mouth.

1. Why is my mouth always dry?

1. Dry weather and lack of moisture. Human lips are mucous membranes, without sweat glands and oil secretion function, so in the dry season, the lips will easily become dry, and many people are accustomed to licking or biting their lips at this time, which will take away the already scarce moisture on the lips, and the more they lick, the drier the lips, causing chapped, cracked and peeling lips. Judgment criteria: Chapped lips caused by lack of moisture are manifested by the accumulation of dead skin on the lips or corners of the mouth.

2. The body lacks vitamins. The red area around the human lips is called the "vermilion border". Its moisture is maintained by the local abundant capillaries and a small number of underdeveloped sebaceous glands. Due to the poor blood circulation in the human skin and mucous membranes in autumn and winter, if you eat less fresh vegetables, the body's intake of vitamin B2 and vitamin A will be insufficient, causing the skin to dry and crack. Judgment criteria: If the corners of your mouth begin to crack and there is white secretion at the corners of your mouth, it is a sign of vitamin deficiency and you should pay attention to internal conditioning.

3. Physical factors. People who are allergic to certain cosmetics or sunlight, people who have mood swings and are easily irritated, certain diseases (diabetes) that cause a decrease in the osmotic pressure of the body's tissue fluid, resulting in excessive drainage and lack of water in the tissue fluid, tobacco, alcohol, and spicy stimulation can all easily cause chapped lips.

2. What to do if your mouth is dry?

1. Don’t lick your lips all the time. The harm cannot be underestimated. This will take away the already scarce moisture on your lips, and the more you lick them, the drier they become, causing chapped lips and peeling.

2. Wear a mask. Wearing a mask can block the biting cold wind outside to keep your lips warm and moist to prevent dehydration and dryness.

3. Massage your lips frequently. The method of massaging lips is not difficult. Just dip some honey on a cotton pad, apply it on your lips, and then gently massage with your fingers before going to bed every night to help promote blood circulation. Honey can not only effectively moisturize the skin, but also inhibit the growth of bacteria and prevent infections due to broken skin.

4. Use scissors to trim the lip skin. To deal with the raised lip skin, you can use small scissors to carefully cut it off in front of a mirror. Never tear it with your hands or pliers, so as not to tear your lips, causing pain, bleeding, or even infection. This is what is medically known as the "danger triangle."

5. Eat vegetables and fruits rich in vitamins. You can also take appropriate amounts of vitamin A, B (mainly B2), and C tablets to improve chapped lips.
