What is annexitis?

What is annexitis?

Adnexitis is a common gynecological disease in women. The so-called adnexae refers to the fallopian tubes, ovaries and other tissues. When the adnexae become inflamed, it is called adnexitis. This is also a common symptom of gynecological diseases. It causes great harm to women. Adnexitis can easily lead to fever, abdominal pain, and even symptoms such as amenorrhea.

Analysis of symptoms of adnexitis:

1. If you have adnexitis, you will have a fever: when the disease occurs, you will have a high fever of 39-40℃ and may have chills or shivering, followed by irregular body temperature. If the inflammatory lesions are isolated due to adhesions, the body temperature of the patient with adnexitis can drop quickly. 2. There will be abdominal pain: initially limited to lower abdominal pain, mostly bilateral, with little vomiting. Different from the metastatic pain of appendicitis, the abdominal pain worsens during bowel movements, and is sometimes accompanied by urinary pain. There is often constipation, abdominal distension, and mucus in the stool, which is the result of inflammatory stimulation of the colon wall. 3. Signs: Symptoms of adnexitis are generally manifested as significant tenderness in the lower abdomen, especially 1.5 to 2 cm above the midpoint of the inguinal ligament. Severe cases are resistant to pressure, abdominal muscle rigidity, and obvious rebound pain.

What are the harms of adnexitis to the human body?

1. Fallopian tube atresia leads to infertility, inducing inflammation and other complications. 2. The ovaries cannot perform normal physiological functions. 3. Secondary sexual characteristics weaken and disappear. 4. Directly cause endocrine disorders, resulting in premature skin aging and stealing women’s beauty. 5. The inflammatory stimulation of adnexitis can cause edema of the fallopian tube and thin the mucosa, thereby exerting great resistance to the combination of sperm and egg, and ultimately leading to infertility. 6. If patients with adnexitis are not treated in time and the inflammation is allowed to spread, the result will be necrosis of the epithelial cells of the fallopian tube mucosa, causing adhesion and blockage of the fallopian tube, affecting the smooth passage of sperm.

7. The truly disastrous consequence of adnexitis is that the ovaries cannot perform their normal physiological functions. The ovaries are one of the most important sexual organs that distinguish women from men. Adnexitis can not only cause female infertility and weaken and disappear secondary sexual characteristics, but can also directly cause endocrine disorders, lead to skin aging, and steal a woman's beautiful appearance. Why are some women unable to get pregnant when they reach childbearing age? There are actually many reasons, but adnexitis is also one of the causes of infertility. Women must take good care of their bodies in daily life, especially taking measures to prevent inflammation of the body, especially being aware of the dangers of adnexitis.
