Why do I have back pain and abdominal pain?

Lower back pain and abdominal pain are relatively common symptoms, especially for women. If you experience lower back pain and abdominal pain, you should be alert to urinary stones and gynecological inflammation. Both of these symptoms can cause lower back pain and radiating pain. Of course, if it is caused by gynecological inflammation, it will also cause abnormal leucorrhea.

Diseases that cause back pain in women

1. Pelvic inflammatory disease

When there is inflammation in the pelvic cavity, various inflammatory changes will occur in the pelvic cavity. Congestion, edema, adhesion of connective tissue, etc. will directly compress the lumbar nerves, causing tenderness in the waist, thereby causing irritation symptoms of lumbar pain.

2. Endometritis

Women with endometritis may experience lower abdominal distension and pain, lumbar pain, etc. during the menstrual interval.

3. Adnexitis

Chronic adnexitis can cause congestion in the female pelvis, fibrosis of connective tissue, and adhesion of pelvic organs, thereby causing symptoms such as lower abdominal distension, pain, and lumbar pain, accompanied by increased vaginal discharge, low back pain, and menstrual disorders, which are often aggravated during menstruation or after fatigue.

4. Abnormal uterine position

Such as uterine prolapse, prolapse or adhesion in the abdominal cavity. The normal uterus is in a slightly forward-leaning and flexed position, and the surrounding ligaments function freely. After frequent abortions, multiple births or other uterine surgeries, the uterus is prone to retroflexion or retroversion. Inflammation of the uterus and surrounding areas can cause adhesions and cause tractional lumbar pain.

5. Uterine fibroids

Generally speaking, uterine fibroids do not cause pain, but many patients report that they experience symptoms such as a feeling of heaviness in the lower abdomen and back pain during the illness. In addition, when pelvic tumors such as uterine fibroids, cervical cancer, and ovarian tumors compress the nerves or cancer cells invade the connective tissue of the pelvis, low back pain can occur.

6. Abnormal IUD

These situations can easily cause the IUD to become lodged in the uterine cavity, thereby stimulating the uterine wall and causing reflex lumbar and sacral pain. This often occurs in women who have newly inserted an IUD, especially within 3 months after surgery.

7. Urinary system "malfunction"

Due to their anatomical and physiological characteristics, women are susceptible to urinary tract infections, such as acute and chronic pyelonephritis, which manifests as soreness or dull pain in the lower back that radiates along the ureter to the perineum. The low back pain is accompanied by symptoms such as frequent urination, urgency, and pain when urinating. Sometimes, the above symptoms are not very obvious, and patients only feel difficulty in urination, which is often easy to ignore. In addition, urinary stones, tuberculosis, tumors, etc. can also cause pain.

8. Fatigue during pregnancy and postpartum period

During pregnancy, as the fetus grows, the ligaments of the pregnant woman's lumbar and pelvic joints relax, and the weight of the uterus increases, causing the body's center of gravity to move forward. In order to maintain body balance, the waist is often straightened forward. If you do not pay attention to rest, it is easy to cause back pain. During pregnancy, the fetus needs sufficient nutrients such as calcium and phosphorus for development. If the dietary intake of nutrients is insufficient, it can cause osteoporosis and decalcification in pregnant women, and can also cause low back pain. Excessive postpartum bleeding, premature labor, excessive fatigue, and cold can also cause low back pain.
