Why does the other breast hurt when the baby is feeding?

After a woman gives birth, her breasts will produce milk. The healthiest way to feed a baby is breastfeeding. However, when the baby sucks milk, it will stimulate the breasts, which will cause many mothers to have some symptoms, such as pain in the other breast when the baby is breastfeeding, etc. However, this situation may also be caused by breast inflammation. So why does the other breast of the baby hurt when breastfeeding?

First, why does the other breast hurt when the baby is feeding? Generally speaking, if there is sudden, continuous, and severe pain in the breast, accompanied by obvious tenderness, it is considered to be various acute infectious diseases in the breast; if there is local throbbing pain, local suppuration may have occurred. If breast pain is paroxysmal and often begins before menstruation or worsens during menstruation, and is relieved or disappears after menstruation, it is considered premenstrual tension syndrome. The pain is distending or stabbing, sometimes involving the ipsilateral armpit or back. If there is mild to moderate tenderness locally, it is considered to be a proliferative lesion.

Second, it may be a physiological reflex caused by the child's sucking. It is not a disease and does not require treatment. Pay attention to feeding on time, let your baby suck frequently, avoid squeezing, and prevent milk stasis, and the symptoms will gradually disappear.

Third, pain in one breast while breastfeeding the other breast is caused by milk engorgement. If you don't experience bloating after breastfeeding, then it's fine. But you must breastfeed correctly. Breastfeed on both sides alternately, and empty the side you are breastfeeding first before breastfeeding the other side.

Why does the other breast hurt when the baby is feeding? Generally speaking, if this is the case, it is normal and there is no problem. Both sides are connected. Pay attention to the baby's diet and feeding, and pay attention to the care of the baby's buttocks. You may also suffer from mastitis. You can breastfeed in the early stages of mastitis. Not only should you breastfeed, but you should also let your baby eat more to discharge the accumulated milk. It is recommended to use a hot towel for hot compress to help improve symptoms and insist on breastfeeding.
