What causes cervical spondylosis? Two key factors

There are many adverse factors that cause cervical spondylosis in daily life. The most common ones are holding the neck while talking on the phone and "working hard". They are extremely harmful to the cervical spine and must be corrected in time in life.

1. Phone call with your neck tucked

Clamping the phone around your neck to make or receive calls will put your cervical spine in an abnormally twisted state. This is simply adding insult to injury for the already tired cervical spine. From a physiological structure perspective, the angle of scoliosis of the human cervical spine cannot be too large. Clamping the stethoscope is a very difficult movement for the neck and requires greater effort than usual to complete.

Office workers usually work in front of computers for a long time, and their cervical spine is often in a state of strain. Therefore, when answering the phone, you can keep the cervical spine neutral, in the most relaxed state, holding the microphone in your hand, close to your ears and mouth. In addition, using a headset phone is also a good choice.

2. “Working hard”

The normal physiological curvature of the cervical spine is convex forward. If you work at a desk or in front of a computer for a long time, the cervical spine will be in a flexed position against the cervical curve for a long time. This posture can easily cause the posterior tension ligament on the vertebra to be in a state of traction for a long time, causing congestion, swelling, hypertrophy and calcification of the neck. The traction of the thickened posterior longitudinal ligament can cause bleeding under the bone wax at the posterior edge of the vertebral body and the formation of new bone, leading to spinal stenosis and cervical spondylosis, which can easily cause insufficient blood supply to the brain and cause symptoms such as dizziness and nausea.

Office workers should find time to relax in their busy schedule and consciously do more activities suitable for the head and neck within the range of motion of the cervical spine. Various cervical exercises are good choices.

The cervical vertebra is the pillar that supports a person. If there is a problem with it, then the person will also have problems. Therefore, do not harm your cervical curvature. Causing cervical spondylosis will be very troublesome. Not harming the cervical curvature is equivalent to changing those habits, movements, postures, etc. that harm the cervical spine.
