Nursing diagnosis and measures for appendicitis?

When it comes to appendicitis, many people are familiar with it. Generally, appendicitis is divided into acute appendicitis and chronic appendicitis. In fact, whether it is acute appendicitis or chronic appendicitis, it is very harmful to the human body. Therefore, after appendicitis is discovered, it must be treated as soon as possible. The earlier the treatment, the better. After appendicitis is treated as soon as possible, daily care is also very important. What are the nursing diagnosis and measures for appendicitis?

What are the nursing measures for appendicitis?

In terms of diet, patients should pay more attention to their daily diet and eat more light food, high-fiber food, etc. Patients can also eat some heat-clearing and detoxifying foods, such as mung beans, bean sprouts, etc., eat less warm foods, such as lamb, beef, etc., and also not consume excessive spicy foods, such as ginger, peppers, etc.

What are the nursing measures for appendicitis?

In daily care, pay more attention to changes in the condition. For example, if abdominal pain occurs, seek medical attention in time. Chronic appendicitis requires more courses of treatment and is prone to recurrence, so patients should pay more attention to daily health care. The most common symptom of typical acute appendicitis patients is upper abdominal pain. Many people think it is gastritis, but it is not. The pain symptoms will shift to the right lower abdomen within a few hours, and vomiting, nausea and other symptoms may also occur. There will be obvious pain when pressing. Such patients should also take good care of their own health. In addition, patients with chronic appendicitis should not exercise after meals, nor should they engage in strenuous exercise to avoid fecal stones getting stuck in the appendix and aggravating the condition. Patients also need more rest, as adequate sleep can enhance immunity.

In fact, appendicitis is more common in acute cases. Early treatment as soon as possible can reduce the damage of the disease. Otherwise, it may become chronic appendicitis, which will be more difficult to treat and the cost will increase. Therefore, it is better to treat it as soon as possible. Finally, patients should also pay attention to their hygiene habits, remember to wash their hands before eating, clean food, etc., to avoid bacterial infection.

What causes appendicitis?

1. Acute appendicitis

(1) Obstruction: The appendix is a long, thin tube that is connected to the cecum at only one end. Once obstructed, secretions may accumulate in the lumen, increasing the internal pressure and compressing the appendix wall, which may hinder distal blood flow. On this basis, bacteria in the lumen invade the damaged mucosa and easily cause infection.

(2) The main cause of infection is direct infection caused by bacteria in the appendix cavity. If the appendix mucosa is slightly damaged, bacteria will invade the wall of the tube and cause infection of varying degrees.

(3) Other factors believed to be related to the onset of the disease include visceral nerve reflexes caused by gastrointestinal dysfunction such as diarrhea and constipation, which lead to spasms of the appendix muscles and blood vessels, resulting in stenosis of the appendix lumen, obstruction of blood supply, damage to the mucosa, and bacterial invasion, leading to acute inflammation.

2. Chronic appendicitis

Clinically, it can be roughly divided into two categories: recurrent appendicitis and chronic appendicitis. The former is mostly caused by the failure to completely eliminate the residual infection during the acute appendicitis attack, resulting in the prolonged illness. The latter has no history of acute appendicitis, and the symptoms are vague and the signs are often unclear.
