What are the signs of epilepsy?

The incidence of epilepsy is actually quite high. Once epilepsy occurs, sometimes there is no timely and effective response and treatment measures, which can cause great harm to the patient. Therefore, it is necessary to understand the precursors of epileptic seizures. Usually patients will have symptoms such as speech interruption, dropping objects, and unresponsiveness. These abnormal symptoms should be taken seriously.

1. When epilepsy occurs, different symptoms will appear depending on the different circumstances of the attack. What are the early signs of epilepsy? The patient has localized seizures, with short convulsions or numbness and tingling in one corner of the mouth, eyelid, finger, toe, or one side of the face and extremities. The convulsions can sometimes spread from the fingers to the upper limbs to the opposite side.

2. Patients mainly show two symptoms during minor seizures: absence seizure, in which the eyes suddenly stare or roll up, the patient becomes dazed, and activities and speech are interrupted. The patient drops objects he is holding and does not respond when called, which lasts for about tens of seconds. What are the early signs of epilepsy? Petit myoclonic seizures are short (1-2 seconds) myoclonus in the face, upper limbs, neck, and trunk. Psychomotor seizures are similar to absence seizures, and patients experience a variety of hallucinations, illusions, and other movements.

3. Major seizure: The patient suddenly loses consciousness, falls, sometimes screams, stops breathing, foams at the mouth, has whole-body tonic convulsions, bites lips and tongue, and suffers incontinence. What are the early signs of epilepsy? Epilepsy seriously affects everyone's health, so everyone must pay attention to epilepsy. Timely treatment is very important for patients.

4. Limb seizures: Patients with epilepsy often experience limb convulsions during an attack, accompanied by dull eyes, dizziness and nausea. Severe cases may also cause whole body spasms, etc. Some patients may have milder symptoms, such as temporary cessation of activity and local spasm of the facial nerves, but the symptoms are not obvious.

5. Mental attack: The patient will lose consciousness and be able to feel changes in the people, things, and objects around him, but he cannot respond. At the same time, these patients will also become irritable, extremely prone to temper tantrums, and unable to control their emotions. Some epilepsy patients may also experience other disturbances of consciousness during an epileptic seizure.
