When accompanied by inflammatory symptoms and signs, such as mild fever, swelling, and a history of throbbing pain (subcalcaneal bursitis), injection of a mixture of insoluble and soluble steroids can control the symptoms. The injection needle is inserted vertically from the inside of the heel and then moved to the painful point in the center of the heel.

Preventive Care

(1) Choose the right shoes: Young people should avoid or avoid wearing shoes with high heels, because high heels increase the burden on the foot and make the plantar fascia of the sole tense. The increased tension can easily induce or promote the formation of bone spurs. For middle-aged and elderly people, they should choose soft-soled and loose shoes to reduce the friction between the sole of the foot and the shoe. (2) Use heel pain relief patch: Applying it to the heel muscle surface can stimulate nerve endings, dilate blood vessels, promote local blood circulation, improve the nutrition of surrounding tissues, and achieve the purpose of reducing swelling, inflammation and analgesia. (3) Reduce strenuous exercise that focuses on the feet: Strenuous exercise that focuses on the feet, such as jumping and running, can induce heel pain. Therefore, people who do not exercise regularly and those who engage in more strenuous activities should proceed step by step. Often do plantar flexion exercises. Plantar flexion is to move the toes toward the sole of the foot, making the skin on the dorsum of the foot tense. This is a typical foot movement. Plantar flexion is a performance posture in which ballet dancers stand on their toes. When the foot is plantar flexed, the plantar fascia relaxes and reduces its tension, which can relieve the irritation and damage of "bone spurs" to surrounding tissues, help to resolve aseptic inflammation, and thus prevent and relieve pain.
