Will drinking beer delay your period?

Drinking beer will delay menstruation. Women should not drink alcohol when menstruation comes or during menstruation, otherwise it is more likely to damage the liver or cause alcohol poisoning. Women are half as likely as men to develop liver damage or alcohol poisoning from drinking during menstruation. Because women lack decomposition enzymes in their bodies during menstruation, if they drink too much at once, the time of drunkenness will be prolonged and the feeling or symptoms of drunkenness will be more severe. This is why drinking during menstruation is addictive and can easily lead to alcohol poisoning. In addition, during menstruation, due to constant bleeding, the body is weak and the resistance is poor. Drinking alcohol will speed up blood circulation, which may lead to increased menstrual flow. If you drink cold beer, it may also cause dysmenorrhea. Therefore, in principle, you should avoid drinking liquor when your period is approaching or during your period. Of course, you can drink a small amount of wine (about 50ml is appropriate), but not too much.

Drinking before menstruation Before menstruation, due to the influence of female hormone secretion, the secretion of alcohol-degrading enzymes will decrease. Therefore, the rate of decomposing alcohol is reduced, resulting in the alcohol not being excreted but becoming an acidic substance. To neutralize these substances, the liver has to continuously produce enzymes. Ultimately, the possibility of liver dysfunction increases, and the duration of drunkenness becomes longer and the feeling of drunkenness becomes more severe. Therefore, drinking before menstruation can easily become addictive and often becomes the trigger for alcohol poisoning. It is recommended to avoid drinking alcohol before and during menstruation.

Ways to delay your period

Menstruation is regular, periodic uterine bleeding in women and is one of the external signs of reproductive maturity. This bleeding is the result of female follicle maturation, ovulation and corpus luteum formation, the change of endometrium from hyperplasia to secretion, and endometrial shedding. This process is achieved by the neuroendocrine system through the production of estrogen and progesterone, so changing any link in the production of hormones will cause changes in the menstrual period. In clinical practice, doctors usually use estrogen or progesterone to regulate the menstrual period for women with normal menstrual cycles who strongly request to change their menstrual period and if persuasion is ineffective.

Ways to delay your period:

1. You can take short-acting oral contraceptives starting from the 5th day of menstruation, 2 tablets a day for 2 weeks, and increase to 4 tablets a day from the 3rd week.

2. Take oral progestin drugs such as Fukang Tablets (norethindrone) or Funing Tablets (megestrol acetate), starting from the 16th day of menstruation, 10 mg per day continuously.

3. Mifepristone is a non-hormonal drug. It is taken orally at a rate of 25 mg per day starting from the 5th day of menstruation. Please note that the above methods 1, 2, and 3 must be taken continuously until the "critical period" is passed and then discontinued. Generally, menstruation will occur within 7 days after stopping the medication. It is worth noting that the abnormal use of sex hormones may disrupt future menstrual cycles, so these methods should not be used for a long time, let alone abused. If menstrual disorders occur, please seek treatment from a gynecologist in time.
