What are the symptoms of bronchial cough

Bronchial cough is a cough caused by the bronchi. When patients have bronchitis, they are prone to repeated coughing. If they do not pay attention to good treatment, the cough will worsen, especially at night, which can easily cause severe coughing. In addition, they will also cough up phlegm, have asthma, and suffer from repeated infections.

What are the symptoms of bronchial cough

(1) Recurrent and gradually worsening cough is a prominent manifestation of this disease. In mild cases, the disease only occurs in winter and spring, especially in the early morning before and after getting up, and there is less coughing during the day. In summer and autumn, the cough is relieved or disappears. Severe patients cough in all seasons, which is aggravated in winter and spring. They cough day and night, especially in the morning and evening. (2) The sputum is usually white, mucus and foamy. It is more common in the morning and is often difficult to cough up due to its viscosity. After infection or cold, symptoms rapidly worsen, sputum volume and viscosity increase, or it may become yellow purulent sputum or be accompanied by wheezing. Occasionally, there is blood in the sputum due to severe coughing. (3) Asthma: When combined with respiratory tract infection, asthma (wheezing) symptoms may occur due to congestion and edema of the bronchiolar mucosa, sputum obstruction and bronchial lumen narrowing. The patient has a wheezing sound in the throat when breathing and a wheezing sound when auscultating the lungs. (4) Repeated infections: Recurrent respiratory infections are likely to occur during cold seasons or when the temperature changes suddenly. At this time, the patient's asthma worsens, the amount of sputum increases significantly and becomes purulent, accompanied by general fatigue, chills, fever, etc. There are moist sounds in the lungs and an increase in white blood cell count in the blood. Repeated respiratory tract infections are particularly likely to worsen the condition of elderly patients and must be given full attention.

Prevention

1. Quit smoking In order to reduce the irritation of smoking to the respiratory tract, patients must quit smoking. Other irritating gases, such as kitchen fumes, should also be avoided. 2. Promote expectoration. For elderly and weak patients who are unable to cough up sputum or patients with a large amount of sputum, expectoration should be the main focus, and antitussive drugs should not be used to avoid inhibiting the central nervous system, aggravating respiratory inflammation and worsening the condition. Helping critically ill patients change their body positions regularly and gently massaging their chest and back can promote the discharge of phlegm.

3. Maintain good home environment hygiene, ensure fresh indoor air circulation, maintain a certain humidity, and control and eliminate various harmful gases and smoke. Improve environmental hygiene, do a good job in dust and air pollution prevention, strengthen personal protection, and avoid the effects of smoke, dust, and irritating gases on the respiratory tract. 4. Appropriate physical exercise can enhance physical fitness, improve respiratory resistance, prevent upper respiratory tract infections, and avoid inhalation of harmful substances and allergens, which can prevent or reduce the occurrence of this disease. Exercise should be gradual and the amount of activity should be gradually increased.
