How to prevent fleas

1. Pesticides

For ordinary households, the main measure to eliminate fleas is to continuously use some high-efficiency and low-toxic insecticides while cleaning the pet's body surface. Ordinary families should be sober enough when buying and using pesticides. First of all, they should control the amount used and stop when necessary, and try not to use them when possible. The second thing is to leave the scene immediately after spraying the pesticide. After 2 hours, open the doors and windows to ventilate the room thoroughly before entering. Furthermore, infants, toddlers and children whose brains are not yet fully developed must not be exposed to pesticides to avoid adverse effects on their brain development and physical health. Also, be careful to avoid contaminating food and cooking utensils when using pesticides in the kitchen. Since most insecticide aerosols are flammable, do not use them in the kitchen where open flames are used to avoid causing a fire.

2. Use traditional Chinese medicine to kill fleas

Soak 20 grams of Stemona bulbs in half a pound of alcohol for 24 hours and then spray it to kill fleas quickly. (Non-toxic, odorless)

3. Citrus peels

You can take fresh citrus peel, cut it into small pieces with a knife, wrap it in gauze and squeeze out the sour and bitter juice. Dilute the juice with boiling water and stir well. After it cools down, spray it on cats and dogs. Or soak a towel in the diluted citrus juice and wrap it around the cats and dogs. After one hour, all the fleas on the cats and dogs will die!

4. Kill fleas on the ground with fire

If there are many fleas on the ground, you can burn the ground directly with flames or sprinkle hot ashes taken from the furnace on the ground to kill the adult fleas, eggs, nymphs and pupae. Be careful about fire when killing fleas in this way.

5. Eliminate flea breeding grounds

Maintain good hygiene, vigorously exterminate rats, keep the ground and corners clean, remove dust, and leave no place for fleas to hide and reproduce.

6. Kill fleas on pets such as cats and dogs

Only by choosing safe and low-toxic drugs can the safety of people and pets be ensured. Wrap 1% pyrethrum powder, 5% malathion, and 1% propoxur powder in gauze and rub it against the cat or dog's fur to kill fleas on them. You can also soak the cat or dog's entire body in a 0.5% iodine disulfide, 0.25% malathion, 0.1% permethrin, and 0.0025% cypermethrin aqueous solution for a medicated bath. After 30 minutes, take the pet out, wash it with clean water, and then blow dry its hair.
