Nerve infection is extremely harmful to human health. Nerve infection is also called neuritis. We know that human nerves are spread all over the body. When a nerve infection occurs somewhere, it will cause abnormalities in local tissues and organs. The most common symptoms are numbness, abnormal cold and heat, and pain. For example, diabetic patients are often prone to nerve infection, which is also a common complication. What causes a neurological infection? Hot and cold sensation: The harm caused by neuritis is that most patients will experience numbness and chills in addition to pain. When their feet are cold, some patients even put their feet directly in front of an open heat source, causing serious damage to their feet. Pain sensation: A characteristic symptom of this disease is that the discomfort of light touch on the sole of the foot turns into pain or severe discomfort. Typical pain may be burning, dull, squeezing, stabbing, cramping or tearing, which is more severe in the lower limbs than in the upper limbs and worse at night. There is often a tingling sensation or numbness when touching objects with both hands. In the early stages, the disease mostly appears on the fingertips, and the patient starts out being unable to do delicate work such as sewing, and later even becomes unable to grasp objects. The main manifestation of diabetic neuritis is paresthesia in the hands and feet, which usually starts from the toes and gradually develops upward over several months or years. Upper limb symptoms usually appear when they reach the knees, and also develop from the fingers to the wrists. In the hands, the unpleasant sensations are distributed like "gloves", while in the feet, these unpleasant sensations are distributed like "socks". The prominent symptom of diabetic neuritis is spontaneous paresthesia, including abnormalities in pain, temperature, and pressure sensation. This is also the harm caused by neuritis. Diabetic neuritis has an insidious onset and slow progression, and is not considered a disease and is not taken seriously in the short term. However, as the course of diabetes prolongs, the symptoms of neuritis will become more and more obvious, and the incidence rate will increase. It is easy to diagnose when the patient shows symptoms and signs. However, some patients may not show any discomfort or abnormal signs even though their peripheral nerves have been damaged, which can easily lead to missed diagnosis and delayed treatment. |
