Tonsils red blood

Tonsils red blood

The red blood streaks in the tonsils are generally caused by redness and swelling. The biggest cause of this phenomenon may be pharyngitis. Pharyngitis is a very common disease in life. The symptoms are very obvious and the harm is great. We need to understand the symptoms of pharyngitis and make a comprehensive judgment based on our own situation so that we can determine our own situation. Let’s take a closer look at pharyngitis.

Pharyngitis is a nonspecific inflammation of the pharynx. It is a general term for inflammation caused by various microorganisms infecting the pharynx. It can exist alone, co-exist with rhinitis, tonsillitis and laryngitis, or be a precursor symptom of certain diseases. Can be divided into acute pharyngitis and chronic pharyngitis. Acute pharyngitis is an acute inflammation of the pharyngeal mucosa and submucosal tissue. The pharyngeal lymphoid tissue is often involved. The inflammation may be localized in the early stages, but as the disease progresses, it often involves the entire pharyngeal cavity. It is more common in autumn and winter, and at the turn of winter and spring. The main symptoms are dryness, burning, pain in the throat, obvious pain when swallowing, congestion and swelling in the throat, etc. Chronic pharyngitis can be divided into chronic simple pharyngitis, chronic hypertrophic pharyngitis and atrophic pharyngitis. Among them, chronic simple pharyngitis is more common. The lesions are mainly in the mucosal layer, manifested as chronic congestion of the pharyngeal mucosa, hyperplasia of the mucosal and submucosal connective tissue, hypertrophy of the mucous glands, hypersecretion, and increased mucus secretion. Patients often cough up sticky phlegm in the throat, or feel a foreign body sensation in the throat that they cannot cough up or swallow. It is more common in adults, with a long course of disease, easy relapse, stubborn symptoms and difficulty in cure.

treat

1. Remove the cause

Eliminate various pathogenic factors, such as quitting smoking and drinking, improving the working environment, and actively treating chronic inflammatory lesions of the nose and nasopharynx and related systemic diseases. Strengthen physical fitness, improve body immunity, and prevent acute upper respiratory tract infections. Get enough rest, drink plenty of water, and eat light, easily digestible food.

2. Symptomatic treatment

If you have fever or sore throat, you should promptly adopt physical cooling measures (such as warm water or 75% alcohol bath, placing ice packs on the head, etc.) and other antipyretic measures such as medication. Commonly used drugs include oral APC or intramuscular injection of analgesia, etc. Keep the mouth clean and use alkaline gargles to appropriately dissolve the viscous secretions in the throat. Compound borax solution is often used for gargling.

3. Anti-inflammatory treatment

In the early stages of the disease, 1% iodine glycerin or 2% silver nitrate can be applied to the pharyngeal wall to promote the disappearance of inflammation. If the inflammation invades the larynx or trachea, appropriate antibiotics or hormone nebulization inhalation treatment can be used. For patients with severe conditions, intramuscular injection or intravenous drip of penicillin is the first choice, and more effective antibiotics should be replaced at any time. If it is caused by a viral infection, antiviral drugs should be used.

4. Local treatment

Chronic pharyngitis is mainly treated locally. Compound borax solution, furacillin solution, and 2% boric acid solution are often used for gargling in chronic simple pharyngitis. When gargling, tilt your head back, open your mouth and make an "ah" sound so that the gargle can clean the back wall of the throat. In addition to the above-mentioned drug treatments, chronic hypertrophic pharyngitis can be treated with laser. For atrophic pharyngitis, 2% iodine glycerin can be applied to the pharynx to improve local blood circulation and promote glandular secretion.

5. Traditional Chinese medicine treatment

Chronic pharyngitis is caused by deficiency of yin in internal organs and internal heat disturbance. It should be treated by nourishing yin and clearing heat. Zengye Decoction can be used with modifications. Chinese patent medicine lozenges are also commonly used in clinical practice.
