There is a lump on the chin that doesn't hurt.

Our bodies are very fragile. Many times we can clearly feel that there are some problems with our bodies, but many times we don’t know the reason. For example, some people find a lump on their chin but it doesn’t hurt. Many people who find a lump on their chin will think it is a tumor, but is this really the case? Below is an analysis of the causes of lumps on the chin.

1. Infection

1. Acute infections: upper respiratory tract infection, stomatitis, acute cellulitis, infectious mononucleosis, measles, rubella, etc.

2. Chronic infections: tuberculosis, fungal infections, filariasis and sexually transmitted diseases, etc.

2. Tumor

1. Lymphoma: Hodgkin's disease and non-Hodgkin's disease.

2. Leukemia: acute and chronic lymphocytic leukemia, acute non-lymphocytic leukemia, blast crisis of chronic myeloid leukemia, plasma cell leukemia.

3. Malignant histiocytosis.

4. Plasma cell tumors: multiple myeloma, primary macroglobulinemia, heavy chain disease.

5. Tumor metastasis: nasopharyngeal carcinoma, lung cancer, liver cancer, gastric cancer, esophageal cancer, breast cancer, colon cancer, seminoma, etc.

3. Reactive hyperplasia

1. Acute necrotizing hyperplastic lymphadenopathy.

2. Sinus histiocytosis with giant lymphadenopathy.

3. Immune-reactive diseases: drug reactions, vaccination reactions, serum sickness, Castleman's disease (angiofollicular lymphoid hyperplasia, giant lymphadenopathy), and angioimmunoblastic lymphadenopathy.

4. Rheumatic diseases: systemic lupus erythematosus, allergic subsepsis, sarcoidosis, etc.

(IV) Others

1. Histiocytosis X (Langerhan histiocytosis).

2. Lipid storage diseases: Gaucher disease and Nieman-Pick disease.

(V) Lymph nodes are often mildly to severely enlarged, soft and tender. The local skin may be red, swollen, hot and obviously tender, and may be accompanied by fever and increased white blood cell count. Lymph nodes may shrink after treatment. Infectious lymphadenopathy is mostly caused by local infection. Local organ infection often causes swelling of lymph node groups in the corresponding drainage areas. For example, acute infection of the face, five senses or head often causes swelling of multiple lymph nodes in the neck, under the jaw, behind the ears, behind the occipital bone, etc.
