What is the cause of squamous cells in the cervix?

We all know that women's uterus plays an important role in nurturing offspring, so the health of the uterus is very important. When there is an abnormality in the cervix, people will feel very worried. Generally, problems with the cervix will only be discovered during an examination. The presence of squamous cells in the cervix is a phenomenon that some women are diagnosed with during examinations, and many people do not know what this is about.

Is it normal to have squamous cells on the cervix?

1. First of all, it should be clear that these scale-like cells may be normal cells in the body. The reason for this is that there are certain differences in morphology from normal cells to distinguish them, and this type of cells can also be normally converted with normal cells. Therefore, sometimes you will find them in the body, and sometimes you will find them not in the body. Generally, it is normal when the number is not large, and there is no need to worry about it.

2. However, if the situation is more serious and there are a large number of squamous cells in the cervix, then it is abnormal and needs to be taken seriously. It may be severe cervical erosion or cervical squamous cell carcinoma.

3. Cervical squamous cell carcinoma is a very common type of cervical cancer, with a probability as high as three-quarters. There are several types during examination, including exophytic, endophytic, ulcerative and cervical types.

4. It is divided into three levels according to the severity of the condition. Of course, the most important thing for patients to pay attention to when facing this disease is the treatment method:

1). If the biopsy shows only mild atypical hyperplasia, it can be treated as a general inflammation by taking antibacterial and anti-inflammatory drugs such as metronidazole. However, another biopsy should be done after half a year. If moderate atypical hyperplasia has occurred, laser, freezing and other methods should be used for treatment.

2). Surgery is a relatively common treatment approach, which is used for early-stage patients. Common surgical methods include total hysterectomy. Of course, the location of the resection will vary depending on the severity of the disease.

3). For patients in the middle and late stages, surgery can be used as a treatment method; for patients in the late stage and recurrence, chemotherapy can be used, such as surgery combined with preoperative adjuvant chemotherapy to shrink the tumor, and there are many kinds of chemotherapy drugs to choose from.
