Language disorders have different types and symptoms

Language disorders are also divided into many types. Different types have different symptoms, but most of them will cause patients to have inaccurate pronunciation, certain obstacles in speaking ability, and often forget the words they have learned after going to school.

1. Language disorder : refers to abnormalities in articulation, speech fluency, voice, or a combination of the above.

2. Secondary language disorder : speech disorder caused by language abnormality, that is, speech disorder caused by difficulties in understanding language, or speech disorder caused by speech abnormality combined with language abnormality.

3. Developmental language disorder: An individual has difficulty learning to speak due to some abnormality in congenital brain neurological learning. You can observe whether your child is significantly behind other children of the same age in terms of language development. For example, a three or four-year-old child can only utter a few syllables but cannot form words and has a very small vocabulary. Children aged four or five cannot use complete sentences to describe what they see or express their wishes, and their sentences are difficult to understand.

After going to school, he often forgets the words he has learned or cannot recognize them clearly, which causes obvious learning difficulties in reading aloud and reading. As a result, it takes a long time to complete any homework that requires reading. Some children have both spelling disorders and calculation ability disorders, such as frequent phonetic spelling errors, inability to understand mathematical terms and symbols, and difficulty in performing standard mathematical operations.

It is also necessary to keep abreast of the child's medical history, understand the child's current language situation, speech clarity, vocalization conditions, fluency of expression, etc. It is also necessary to understand the child's cognitive, social and behavioral performance, as well as past conditions including birth history, developmental history, medical history, family history, etc.

4. Mixed language disorder : The individual has problems or difficulties in the physiological structure of language, brain nerve learning, and language understanding, resulting in mixed speech disorders.

If a child has the above symptoms, he or she may suffer from language disorders and reading disorders. In addition, attention should be paid to distinguishing it from mental retardation, depression and attention deficit which affect learning and communication.
