Can cholecystitis eat bayberry?

Can cholecystitis eat bayberry?

Many people like to eat bayberry. Bayberry is sweet and sour and is a very good fruit, but patients with cholecystitis need to pay attention to their diet and cannot eat various foods at will, including some fruits. Bayberry generally matures in summer. In the south, bayberry can be easily bought in many cities, but in northern cities, the quantity of bayberry may be relatively small. So, can people with cholecystitis eat bayberry?

1. People with gastric mucosal damage

Although bayberry is warm in nature, sweet and sour in taste, and enters the lung and stomach meridians, it has the effects of promoting fluid and quenching thirst, harmonizing the stomach and digesting food, and stopping vomiting and diarrhea. However, bayberry tastes sour, which will stimulate the secretion of gastric acid, and the organic acid in bayberry has a certain stimulating effect on the gastric mucosa.

Therefore, general stomach diseases will cause varying degrees of damage to the gastric mucosa, such as: acute and chronic gastritis, gastric ulcers, gastric cancer, etc. If you want to eat bayberry, it is recommended to eat it after a meal, and it is not suitable to eat it on an empty stomach.

2. People with toothache

The outer layer of our teeth is called enamel, and the inner layer of the enamel is called pulp. When some people eat, the acid water comes into contact with the pulp full of nerves, which will produce a strong acid feeling and corrode the teeth. The main symptoms include soft gums and blisters on the tip of the tongue. Therefore, people with toothache should not eat too much.

3. Diabetes patients

Bayberry is rich in glucose, fructose, etc. If diabetic patients consume too much, it will cause high blood sugar and endanger their condition. Naturally, pregnant women with high blood sugar are advised to eat less bayberry.

4. People with internal heat and fire constitution

Because bayberry is a warm plant, eating it can help people get hot and get on fire. Therefore, people with excessive internal heat should not eat too much bayberry, such as those with constipation or hemoptysis.

5. Patients with cholecystitis and gallstones

For patients with cholecystitis and gallstones, they cannot eat acidic foods due to their physical condition, and bayberry is acidic. Acidic foods can stimulate the stomach and duodenum to secrete cholecystokinin, thereby causing gallbladder contraction and inducing biliary colic.
