Can a tooth that hurts be pulled out?

Teeth are an important part of our body that we use to chew food. However, when we are young, many people do not pay much attention to the health of their teeth and are very careless about oral hygiene. This bad habit can easily lead to dental abnormalities, such as toothache, red and swollen gums, etc. As the saying goes, toothache is not a disease, but it is painful and embarrassing, making it unbearable for many patients. So when a patient experiences tooth pain, can the tooth be extracted?

Can I have a tooth pulled when I have a toothache?

Many people think of having their teeth extracted when they have toothache and cannot bear the torture of the pain, but they are unwilling to have the tooth extracted after the pain stops. So, experts point out: Whether you can have a tooth extracted when you have toothache depends on the cause of the toothache. Different situations should be treated differently. The following are the types of teeth that need to be extracted:

1. Teeth with severe periodontal disease have become very loose and cannot be stabilized after treatment.

2. Residual roots that are repeatedly inflamed and pus-filled; impacted teeth that cause repeated inflammation and swelling.

3. Supernumerary teeth and buried teeth that affect the normal eruption of teeth; as well as teeth that cause lesions, such as dental cysts, gingival tumors, etc.

4. Teeth with severe caries (commonly known as cavities) have most of their crowns missing and the bone around the roots has also been destroyed, making them unable to be filled.

5. In addition, some teeth themselves do not have lesions, but in order to correct uneven dentition, some good teeth need to be extracted. However, you must follow the advice of the orthodontist and not decide to extract teeth on your own. Pay special attention not to extract canine teeth casually.

6. There are some diseased teeth that can be retained through dental treatment, but they should be extracted when they are suspected to be lesions causing systemic diseases.
