Among the common diseases nowadays, high blood lipids have become a very common condition, and many people also suffer from thrombosis because of it. Therefore, we usually need to take some blood lipid-clearing drugs, and people with this problem must pay attention to their diet. So what are the blood lipid-clearing drugs? Although there are many types of drugs for lowering blood lipids, their ingredients are the same. When purchasing, you should choose drugs produced by regular manufacturers. Estrogen replacement therapy for postmenopausal women can be used as a supplement or alternative treatment to lipid-lowering drug therapy in patients with elevated low-density lipoprotein cholesterol (LDL-cholesterol). Bile acid binding resins (cholestyramine and cholestyramine) are highly effective and safe, and are particularly suitable for patients whose LDL-cholesterol levels are not very high. For patients whose LDL-cholesterol levels are not significantly above the treatment goal, low-dose bile acid binding resins have a good effect. HMG-COA reductase inhibitors (lovastatin, pravastatin, and simvastatin) are safe to use and are very effective in lowering LDL-cholesterol levels while increasing high-density lipoprotein-cholesterol (HDL-cholesterol) levels and lowering triglyceride levels. Niacin and its derivative, levofloxacin, can effectively lower total cholesterol and triglyceride levels. They can also increase HDL-cholesterol and are particularly effective for patients with hypercholesterolemia or mixed hyperlipidemia with low HDL-cholesterol levels. Fibric acid derivatives (such as Gefibrate, Bencomycin, etc.) are effective drugs for lowering triglyceride levels. Fibric acids are not listed as the main cholesterol-lowering drugs because they cannot significantly reduce LDL-cholesterol levels and are not suitable for patients who need to significantly lower LDL-cholesterol levels. However, this type of drug is very effective for patients with elevated blood triglycerides and is suitable for patients with type 2 familial hyperlipoproteinemia. Fibric acid derivatives are also used to treat combined hyperlipidemia and diabetic patients with elevated blood triglyceride levels. Probucol has been shown to be useful in treating hypercholesterolemia. However, the drug is not very effective in lowering LDL cholesterol, and clinical trials have not yet confirmed that the drug can reduce the incidence of coronary heart disease. Therefore, it has not been listed as a major cholesterol-lowering drug. |
