Tianma Gou Teng Decoction Recipe Song

Tianma Gou Teng Tang, the name of a Chinese medicine prescription. Originated from Volume 5 of "General Discussion on Children's Health". It has the effects of calming wind and stopping convulsions, replenishing deficiency and dispelling wind, nourishing blood and stopping asthma, and opening the orifices and awakening the spirits. The main treatment is vomiting and diarrhea, weak spleen and stomach causing wind, and slow shock. Three fen of Uncaria rhynchophylla, one liang each of Gastrodia elata, cicada shell (remove the dirt), Saposhnikovia divaricata (remove the branches and cut), Wild ginseng (remove the stem), Linderae umbellatae (remove the root nodes), Bombyx batryticatus (remove the silk mouth and stir-fry until yellow), Scorpion tail (remove the poison and stir-fry), one fen each of liquorice (roasted) and Notopterygium incisum, and one qian of Sanguisorba officinalis (grinded).

1. Prescription song: Gastrodia elata, Uncaria rhynchophylla, Leonurus mori, Gardenia scutellariae, clear away heat, detoxify, and suppress yang, Eucommia ulmoides, Achyranthes bidentata, and nourish the damaged kidneys, while Poria cocos is good for taking at night.

2. Indications: Hyperactivity of liver yang and liver heat.

3. Syndrome differentiation and treatment: Insufficient kidney essence, hyperactivity of liver yang, resulting in wind-induced stratum heat.
