The risk of ectopic pregnancy increases after most fallopian tube surgeries.

There are many reasons for fallopian tube malformation. Although it can be caused by fallopian tube dysplasia, endometrial migration or polyps in the fallopian tube, the main reason is due to fallopian tube inflammation. There are two common types of inflammation: one is purulent fallopian tube malformation, which is mostly caused by inflammation after delivery, miscarriage or surgery, and it can also be caused by inflammation of adjacent organs, such as appendicitis and peritonitis. The other is tuberculous fallopian tube malformation, which is mostly caused by the spread of pulmonary tuberculosis and peritoneal tuberculosis.

Congenital malformations of the fallopian tube are not easy to detect. First, they often coexist with congenital malformations of the reproductive tract and are ignored. Second, they are hidden deep in the sides of the pelvic cavity. A commonly used diagnostic method is to detect a unicornuate uterus and unilateral fallopian tube or bilateral fallopian tubes after hysterosalpingography. Examination of the abdominal cavity may reveal various malformations. Laparotomy can provide a more definitive diagnosis.
