Hemoglobin concentration

Hemoglobin concentration

We all know that hemoglobin is a relatively important protein in our body. It mainly exists in our blood and plays a great auxiliary role in our absorption of oxygen outside the body. The concentration of hemoglobin will always affect the strength of our absorption and whether our body functions can function normally, so I hope everyone can pay more attention to the harm caused by the concentration of hemoglobin to us in life.

Our current medical technology measures the concentration of hemoglobin by measuring the strength of our absorption ability. So if we want to know the concentration of hemoglobin, we recommend that you go to the hospital more often to check the concentration of hemoglobin.

Hemoglobin concentration, also known as hemoglobin content (abbreviated as Hb), refers to the hemoglobin content of red blood cells in each liter of whole blood, and the unit is g/L. Hemoglobin is the carrier of oxygen in the blood, so this value can be used to measure the degree of anemia.

1. Physiological increase: The red blood cells and hemoglobin of people living in plateau areas are often higher than those of people living in plain areas. Drinking too little water or sweating too much can cause excessive water elimination, which can lead to temporary blood concentration and a slight increase in red blood cells and hemoglobin. In newborns, the height increase is physiological.

2. Pathological increase:

(1) Severe vomiting, diarrhea, heavy sweating, patients with extensive burns, diabetes insipidus, hyperthyroidism crisis, diabetic acidosis, etc., due to excessive loss of water in the plasma, the blood is concentrated, and there will be a significant increase in the amount of red blood cells and hemoglobin.

(2) Chronic heart disease, cor pulmonale, cyanotic congenital heart disease, etc., due to tissue hypoxia, increase of erythropoietin in the blood leads to compensatory increase of red blood cells and hemoglobin in the blood.

(3) Certain tumors, such as renal cancer, hepatocellular carcinoma, uterine fibroids, ovarian cancer, and renal embryonal carcinoma, can also cause a non-compensatory increase in erythropoietin, leading to the above results.

Regarding the hemoglobin concentration introduced in the article, we hope that everyone can raise their understanding of hemoglobin to another level. If you want to know more about hemoglobin concentration, we hope that you will pay more attention to the relevant articles we have published, or go to the hospital to consult relevant doctors, so as to increase our understanding of hemoglobin concentration.
