Corneal hemorrhage

Corneal hemorrhage

If there is any problem with the eyes, people will be very concerned, because the eyes themselves are very fragile organs, and a little carelessness may lead to decreased vision. Therefore, when people have corneal bleeding, they will want to know what is going on. There are many patients with corneal hemorrhage in clinical practice who do not know why this happens.

This is mainly because corneal hemorrhage usually occurs rapidly, and there are no symptoms before it occurs. It may only take a while for you to notice the corneal hemorrhage, but you can rest assured that corneal hemorrhage generally will not affect your vision.

Conjunctival hemorrhage often causes panic among people, who believe that eye bleeding will lead to serious consequences. In fact, conjunctival hemorrhage will not cause any harm to the eyes and will be naturally absorbed and disappear in about one or two weeks. However, it is necessary to find out the cause of conjunctival hemorrhage.

1. Trauma. For example, some people experience conjunctival hemorrhage when rubbing their eyes with their hands. Conjunctival hemorrhage caused by trauma to the head and face is common.

2. Coughing, whooping cough, vomiting, and epileptic seizures can easily cause conjunctival hemorrhage.

3. Thrombocytopenic purpura, hemorrhagic purpura, leukemia, anemia, sepsis, lupus erythematosus, etc.

4. Hypertension, arteriosclerosis, nephritis, diabetes, etc., due to poor elasticity of blood vessels, they are prone to rupture and bleeding.

5. Conjunctival inflammation, conjunctival vasodilation, and hemangioma.

Generally speaking, the cornea will not bleed. The most common corneal bleeding is bleeding in the anterior chamber of the cornea. However, if there is bleeding in the anterior chamber, it can easily affect vision. This situation is usually related to increased blood vessel fragility and high blood pressure, and it requires immediate medical attention.

Now that you know what causes corneal hemorrhage, if you have symptoms of corneal hemorrhage but no eye pain, it will generally disappear automatically after a few days. However, if symptoms of eye pain and soreness occur at the same time, you should consider the presence of inflammation and hemangioma. It is recommended that you go to the hospital for an examination.
