In daily life, we often hear patients with sore throats and coughs say that they suffer from tonsillitis. So what are tonsils? In fact, tonsils are lymphatic tissues under the epithelium of our oropharynx. There are several groups of lymphatic tissues around our throat. These lymphatic tissues can be divided into palatine tonsils, pharyngeal tonsils, and lingual tonsils. Because the tonsils are located in the oropharynx and because the area is relatively sensitive, it is easy to cause tonsillitis.

If a patient suffers from frequent tonsillitis, we generally recommend that he undergo a tonsillectomy. Many people will feel scared when they hear about tonsillectomy.
