Rough skin

Rough skin

Generally, when people say that a person has good skin, they will say that it is smooth, delicate and white. This shows that the smoothness of the skin directly determines the quality of a person's skin. However, some people's skin looks flawless, but it feels obviously rough to the touch, which makes people feel very uncomfortable. What is the reason for this? Why does the skin become rough?

In fact, for people whose skin looks good but feels very rough to the touch, it is generally caused by a lack of vitamins in the body. Especially when the body lacks vitamin A, it generally leads to rough skin.

Vitamin A is an essential substance for maintaining the normal function of human epithelial tissue. It can regulate the keratinization process of the skin, and especially plays an important role in maintaining the physiological functions of the skin's sebaceous glands to secrete sebum and sweat glands to secrete sweat. Lack of vitamin A can cause atrophy of sebaceous glands and sweat glands. The skin lacks the nourishment of sebum and sweat and easily becomes dry, rough and rough. In addition, due to the dysfunction of regulating the skin keratinization process, the stratum corneum of the epidermis becomes excessively keratinized and often forms keratin plugs at the openings of hair follicles, so goose bump-like changes often occur on the skin surface. At the same time, the hair and sweat hair may become dry, the finger and toenails may become brittle and deformed, and the facial skin is often dull and lusterless.

The main causes of vitamin A deficiency are eating too little, or improper food cooking and storage methods, such as washing rice too many times, cooking for too long, which destroys the vitamin A in the food and causes excessive loss, and gastrointestinal diseases that lead to poor vitamin A absorption, among other factors. It often occurs in people who have picky eating habits, have a monotonous diet, eat less vegetables and don't like to eat fatty meat. Vegetables and fruits that we consume every day, such as carrots, radishes, leeks, green peppers, lettuce leaves, bananas, citrus fruits, yellow corn, yellow sweet potatoes, and animal livers are rich in vitamin A.

The skin is prone to redness, with increased oil and scales on the surface, or there is a feeling of numbness and crawling insects. The corners of the mouth are often dry and cracked, with white infiltration and erosion, and dry scabs may appear, or the hair follicles may become red and scales or scabs may appear.

After understanding the reasons for rough skin, I hope that all female friends will pay attention to supplementing vitamin A and eat more foods containing vitamin A. However, if you want your skin to look more beautiful, just supplementing vitamin A is far from enough. Supplementing vitamin C is equally important.
