Treatment of uterine prolapse

Treatment of uterine prolapse

The so-called uterine prolapse is that the female uterus slides down from its original position and descends along the vagina. If uterine prolapse occurs, the patient actually has a relatively obvious feeling, especially in the abdomen, which will cause the abdomen to fall. The symptoms of uterine prolapse are clinically divided into three degrees. If it is the most serious situation, it will directly affect the patient's walking.

For the case of uterine prolapse, if it is the first degree of uterine prolapse, generally no special treatment is required. The patient only needs to rest in bed in time, and the uterus can return to its original position. However, for the second and third degree of uterine prolapse, treatment is required. The specific treatment methods for uterine prolapse are:

Uterine prolapse should be treated actively. Non-surgical and surgical treatments may be used depending on the situation. The treatment methods can be divided into: non-surgical treatments such as the use of pessaries, oral Chinese medicine, acupuncture, physical exercise, and surgical repair. Because the operation will have a certain impact on the subsequent vaginal delivery, it is only suitable for severe cases and women who no longer want to have children.

Pessaries have long been used to treat uterine prolapse. Pessary treatment is to use the pubococcygeus muscle bundle of the levator ani muscle to support the uterine tray in the vaginal vault, prevent the cervix from descending, and maintain the cervix at the level of the ischial spines. This method is simple and easy to perform, and patients can master it by themselves. It can be used for all degrees of uterine prolapse. There are many types of pessaries, and the most commonly used pessary is the plastic mushroom type. The trays are divided into three sizes: large, medium and small (the diameter or horizontal diameter is 6, 5 and 4 cm respectively). Trays are divided into two types: round and oval. The most commonly used size is medium. The handle is about 5cm long and bends forward to fit the curvature of the vagina. Generally, put it in the morning before work, take it out and wash it in the evening.

It is best not to use during menstruation. The surface of the plastic tray is smooth, it is not easy to deteriorate when exposed to acids and alkalis, and it has little irritation to tissues. After wearing the support, the symptoms disappear and the patient can participate in various activities without pain. The effect will be better if combined with acupuncture and Chinese medicine treatment. Pessaries should not be used in patients with severe perineal lacerations, genital tract inflammation, severe uterine prolapse that cannot be reduced to the vagina, excessive cervical elongation or suspected cancer, urinary fistula or fecal fistula, postpartum period, pelvic tumors or combined ascites.

After reading the introduction in this article, I believe you already know the treatment methods for uterine prolapse. For women with uterine prolapse, they must pay attention to timely treatment of uterine prolapse and do not wait until the disease is serious to treat it. Not only will it cost more, but the patient will also suffer more pain.
