Fasciitis refers to cold, damp, chronic strain, which causes edema, oozing and fibrosis of myofascia and muscle tissue. The body is rich in white fibrous tissue fascia, myometrium, ligaments, tendons, etc.

The pain is often ignored or misdiagnosed in a humid or cold climate environment. The dampness and coldness cause muscle and blood vessel contraction and ischemic edema, which leads to local fibrous serous exudation. Chronic strain is another important pathogenic factor. The muscle fascia is damaged, resulting in fibrosis, which puts the soft tissue in a state of high tension, causing micro-tear injuries, which increase and contract the fibrous tissue and squeeze the local capillary endings and peripheral nerves, causing pain.

The main symptom is diffuse dull pain, especially in the psoas muscles on both sides and above the iliac crest. Local pain, coolness, skin numbness, muscle cramps and movement disorders. Characteristics of pain: pain in the morning, mild during the day, and worse in the evening. Pain can be induced by long-term inactivity or excessive activity. The disease has a long course and is triggered by fatigue and climate change. There is an obvious localized tenderness point in the affected area, and touching this point can cause pain and radiation. Sometimes nodular substances can be felt in the myofascia, which are called fascial fat hernia.

Soreness and discomfort in the neck, shoulders and back, muscle stiffness, or a feeling of heaviness and numbness, which may radiate to the head, upper limbs, back and between the shoulder blades; symptoms worsen in the morning, after weather changes or cold, and the pain is relieved after activity and often recurs; there may be a snapping sensation in the neck; physical examination may reveal local muscle tension and tenderness, with the tenderness points often located around the spinous processes and beside the spinous processes, often involving the trapezius, rhomboids and levator scapulae, and the tenderness is localized with no radiation.
