Symptoms and treatment of autonomic neurasthenia

Neurasthenia is a term that we all understand. We usually say that our nerves are weak if we wake up easily during sleep. This is just a popular way of saying it. There is a special term in medicine called "vegetative neurasthenia". What kind of neurasthenia is this? Friends who are interested can follow the editor's footsteps to explore.

The autonomic nervous system is also called vegetative nervous system because it is not controlled by human will. The autonomic nervous system directly or indirectly regulates the functional activities of internal organs and maintains the balance of the internal and external environment of the body. Once the function is disturbed, it can lead to disorders in visceral functional activities.

The main manifestations of autonomic dysfunction: in the respiratory system, changes in breathing depth and frequency may occur; in the cardiovascular system, paroxysmal hypertension, periodic hypotension, sinus tachycardia or bradycardia, and manifestations similar to myocardial infarction may occur; in the digestive system, gastrointestinal function and digestive juice secretion disorders may occur; in the urinary system, frequent urination, urgency, difficulty urinating, and even urinary incontinence or urinary retention may occur; if the symptoms are paroxysmal, facial flushing, abnormal sweating, pupil dilation or constriction, tachycardia or bradycardia, drooling, chills, abdominal pain, etc. may also occur; other symptoms include sexual dysfunction and sleep disorders.

Treatment of autonomic dysfunction:

(1) Drugs for regulating autonomic nervous function usually include 20-50 mg of oryzanol, 3 times a day.

(2) For symptomatic treatment of palpitations, use propranolol and diazepam (Valium); for excessive sweating, use the Chinese patent medicine Yupingfeng Granules or Oyster Powder; for neurogenic urinary frequency, use the Chinese patent medicine Suquan Pills or Sanjin Tablets; for gastrointestinal dysfunction, use vitamin B complex solution, pepsin or multi-enzyme tablets; for sleep disorders, take diazepam (Valium) 5 mg or chlordiazepoxide 10 mg before bedtime; for others, you can choose diazepam (Valium) 5 mg, 2 times/day; alprazolam 0.25 mg, 3 times/day; estazolam 1-2 mg, 2-3 times/day; iprafosine 0.15 g/day, for 7-30 days.

Autonomic neurasthenia does not simply refer to neurasthenia. It is a little more complicated than neurasthenia, as we can see from the symptoms of autonomic neurasthenia. Moreover, treatment is mostly based on drugs, but drug treatment must be decided based on the patient's other symptoms, which is also the most critical point.
