In our daily lives, we have all heard of Poria cocos. Many people confuse Poria spirit with Poria cocos, but in fact, there are great differences between these two medicines. Poria spirit is a fungus and a traditional Chinese medicinal material with many functions. This medicinal material is distributed all over the world, so in recent years, Poria spirit has gradually begun to enter our daily lives. So what are the functions of Poria spirit? Sedative effect After the experimental animals were gavaged with 10-20 g/kg of Poria, they entered a quiet and sleepy state, but there was no sleep phenomenon; for mice excited by sodium benzoate and caffeine, intraperitoneal injection of 5 g/kg of Poria decoction can make them calm, with a sedation rate of 90% and a sedation index of 3.11; if 20 g/kg is used for gavage instead, the sedation rate is 85.7% and the sedation index is 1.64. Tumor inhibition effect The structure of tuckahoe sugar is a side chain of β (1-6) pyranoglucoside. When the side chain is cut off and becomes a pure β- (1-3) glucan (i.e. tuckahoe polysaccharide), the inhibitory effect rate on sarcoma 180 reaches 98.88%. Calming the mind Poria has a sweet and mild taste, is mild in nature and slightly warm, enters the heart meridian, nourishes the heart and calms the mind. As stated in "Pharmaceutical Chemistry": "Dai Ren said, the heart is inherently hot, but becomes cold when it is weak. If the heart is weak and timid, the spirit is distracted, the person is frightened and dazed, the soul is in a trance, the person is tired and forgetful, all of these require warming the heart and spirit, otherwise it will not work." This product is often used to treat insomnia, epilepsy, forgetfulness and other symptoms. In addition to this, Poria has many other benefits. It also has the effects of promoting diuresis and reducing inflammation, and improving edema. It has a good effect on edema caused by some dysfunctional body fluid metabolism disorders. However, although Poria has good effects, there are still some taboos that need to be paid attention to, especially for some patients with kidney deficiency and damp-cold diseases should not eat Poria. |
