What causes chest tightness, shortness of breath, difficulty breathing, and dizziness?

Chest tightness, shortness of breath, difficulty breathing and dizziness are symptoms that many people will experience when they are sick. This feeling is not only uncomfortable but also annoying. Chest tightness, shortness of breath, difficulty breathing, and dizziness vary from person to person, but they are all early symptoms of the disease and should be checked and treated in time. What are the causes of chest tightness, shortness of breath, difficulty breathing and dizziness?

1. Functional chest tightness (i.e. chest tightness without organic lesions): Staying in a room with closed doors and windows and poor air circulation for a long time, or encountering some unpleasant things, or even quarreling or arguing with others, or being in a climate with low air pressure, often produces chest tightness and fatigue. After a short rest, opening windows for ventilation or going outside to breathe fresh air, relaxing the mind, and regulating emotions, it will soon return to normal. This kind of chest tightness can be said to be functional chest tightness, and there is no need to be nervous or treated.

2. Pathological chest tightness (i.e. chest tightness caused by organic lesions): Chest tightness can be not only physiological, but also caused by diseases of certain organs in the body, i.e. pathological chest tightness. For example:

1. Respiratory obstruction: tumors in the trachea and bronchus, tracheal stenosis, and external pressure on the trachea (thyroid enlargement, tumors in the mediastinum);

2. Lung diseases: emphysema, bronchitis, asthma, atelectasis, pulmonary infarction, pneumothorax;

3. Heart disease: certain congenital heart diseases, rheumatic heart valve disease, coronary heart disease, heart tumors;

4. Diaphragmatic diseases: diaphragmatic swelling and diaphragmatic paralysis;

5. Disturbance of body fluid metabolism and acid-base balance, etc.

Causes of chest tightness, shortness of breath, dyspnea and dizziness in young women

Pathological factors: Common diseases in women include myocarditis and autonomic dysfunction. Among various myocarditis, viral myocarditis is the most common. Women are prone to complications of viral myocarditis after catching a cold or upper respiratory tract infection. One of the main symptoms of this disease is chest tightness and shortness of breath. Autonomic dysfunction often occurs in female adolescence. Some girls aged 16 or 17 often complain of chest tightness and shortness of breath, which is mostly caused by autonomic dysfunction. Women with chest tightness and shortness of breath generally do not need treatment if no lesions are found after examination. Keep a happy mood, be happy and optimistic, strengthen physical exercise, and be calm and healthy.

Psychological factors: mainly caused by unpleasant emotions such as depression and bad mood. Girls are often emotionally delicate, and they tend to get angry when they encounter unpleasant things. They often feel chest tightness and shortness of breath due to bad mood. According to statistics from psychologists, chest tightness and shortness of breath caused by this reason are the most common. It seems that you have to think about everything in an open-minded way and don't get too stuck in a dead end.

Physiological factors: Women's reproductive systems such as ovaries begin to mature from puberty, secreting a large amount of estrogen, which triggers menstruation and forms obvious female characteristics. Chest tightness and shortness of breath are closely related to the level of sex hormone secretion. Young women have more active estrogen secretion, thicker subcutaneous fat, and fat tissue consumes more oxygen than muscle tissue, so young women will have insufficient oxygen supply to the human body, resulting in chest tightness and shortness of breath.
