Stomach qi deficiency is a condition that exists in many people. Generally speaking, after people suffer from stomach qi deficiency, different symptoms will appear in their bodies. So, what are the symptoms of gastric qi deficiency?

Symptoms of weak stomach qi:

Dull stomachache or abdominal pain, likes warmth and pressure, worse pain when hungry, less pain after eating, vomiting of clear water, loss of appetite, lack of energy, fatigue, cold hands and feet, loose stools, pale tongue with white coating, weak or slow pulse.

Dull pain or distension in the stomach, relieved by pressing, loss of appetite, or pain relieved by eating, severe distension after eating, belching, bland mouth without thirst, sallow complexion, shortness of breath, laziness to speak, fatigue, pale tongue, thin white coating, and weak pulse.

TCM syndrome differentiation and treatment method:

(I) Oral prescriptions

1. Basic prescriptions: (1) Sijunzi Decoction: 12g ginseng, 10g atractylodes, 10g poria, 4.5g liquorice. This recipe is sweet and warm, invigorating Qi and nourishing the stomach. (2) Huangqi Jianzhong Decoction: 30g of astragalus, 10g of cinnamon twig, 10g of peony root, 10g of roasted licorice root, 30g of maltose, 10g of jujube, and 10g of ginger. This prescription can replenish qi, warm the middle, and replenish deficiency.

2. Add or subtract: For patients with nausea and vomiting or nausea during pregnancy, use the basic formula (1) and add 10g of tangerine peel and 10g of Pinellia ternata to harmonize the stomach and lower the qi. For patients with vomiting of clear phlegm and saliva, add 10g each of Evodia rutaecarpa and cinnamon twig to warm the middle and lower the adverse effects. For those with chest and abdominal discomfort, fullness and distension, add 10 grams each of bupleurum, cimicifuga, 10 grams of immature bitter orange, and 12 grams of Magnolia officinalis to raise the clear and lower the turbid, dry up dampness and eliminate fullness, or use Banxia Xiexin Decoction, which can be used for both tonifying and purgative purposes. For those with loss of appetite and bland taste in the mouth, add 10 grams of Amomum villosum, 15 grams of Jianqu, 10 grams of chicken gizzard lining, and 6 grams of Patchouli to wake up the stomach and invigorate the spleen. For patients with dull pain in the stomach that prefers warmth and pressure, use the basic formula (2) and add 15g of ginger and 15g of cyperus rotundus to warm the middle and relieve pain.

(ii) External application drugs

1. External ironing method: stir-fry one or two grams of bran with five grams of ginger residue, wrap it with cloth after hot, and rub and iron the affected area. Used for stomach deficiency and fullness.

2. Use one piece of navel warming ointment (made of agarwood, fennel, frankincense, cinnamon, musk, etc.) each time, melt it over low heat, and apply it to the navel. Suitable for those suffering from stomach pain due to deficiency or cold.
