Acne on the edge of upper lip

Acne on the edge of upper lip

When acne appears on different parts of the face, everyone should pay attention to what it means. For example, when acne appears on the edge of the upper lip, it is related to many factors. The sebaceous glands secrete too much oil, which clogs the pores, makes the pores larger and causes inflammation. In addition, internal heat and toxins are also one of the causes of acne, and the cause of internal heat is also related to modern people’s eating habits, such as staying up late, eating too greasy food, etc.

What causes acne around the lips?

1. Sebum blockage

Acne is caused by blockage and inflammation of hair follicles and sebaceous glands. During puberty, hormones in the body stimulate hair growth and promote the sebaceous glands to secrete more oil. As a result, a lot of substances accumulate in the hair and sebaceous glands, allowing oil and bacteria to attach, causing redness and swelling of the skin.

2. Internal heat and toxicity

Acne that grows around the lips is caused by internal heat and toxins. For example, staying up late and eating spicy food or getting hot in hot weather can cause this type of acne. Acne on the lower lip is a sign of physical weakness and reproductive system abnormalities. You should eat less cold drinks and cold foods.

3. Poor digestion

Friends who have acne around their lips basically have poor digestive system function, such as stomach problems, stomach pain, etc.

4. Excessive picky eating

About 20% of people who are picky eaters and do not like to eat fruits and green vegetables will get acne, and more than 80% of these acne will grow around the lips.

What to do if acne appears around lips?

1. Don’t wash your face too often or too little. 2 to 3 times a day is enough, using warm water. Since cold water does not easily remove grease, hot water promotes sebum secretion. Do not use irritating soaps. Sulfur soap has certain benefits for acne. Do not use vanishing cream and other oily cosmetics.

2. Do not squeeze acne with your hands to avoid causing suppuration and inflammation. After the pus is broken and absorbed, scars and pigmentation will be formed, affecting your beauty. Antibiotics are effective for severe infections.

3. Eat more vegetables and fruits, and less fat, sugar, spicy and other irritating foods. Pay attention to "four less and one more", that is, eat less spicy food (such as peppers, onions, garlic, etc.), less greasy food (such as animal oil, vegetable oil, etc.), less sweets (such as sugar, coffee), less "irritating foods" (such as dog and mutton, etc.), eat appropriate amount of cool vegetables and fruits, and prevent stomach problems caused by excessive intake.

4. Morning is the best time to defecate, which helps the metabolism of the day. It is necessary to cooperate with abdominal massage to help expel old stool and maintain smooth bowel movements. Generally, massage clockwise for 10 minutes with the navel as the center.

5. Do not buy medicines on your own, and absolutely do not use external medicines containing hormones to avoid worsening of the condition. It is best not to abuse cosmetics and not to wear heavy makeup.

6. It is best not to smoke, drink alcohol or strong tea. Patients with active, inflammatory acne (such as papules and pustules) should stay away from the sun and avoid wind and sand. Places that are too cold, too hot or too humid are also not good for acne.

7. It’s best to go to bed before 11 o’clock. Don't eat midnight snacks before going to bed. Play computer less and don’t turn on your cell phone and place it next to your bed as it emits radiation that can have serious effects on your skin.

8. It is popular among some young women to take birth control pills to treat acne. However, taking birth control pills casually can also cause certain side effects. Acne medication should be used under the guidance of a doctor.

9. Do not abuse drugs or hormones. Due to unclear diagnosis, eagerness to treat the disease, self-medication, non-compliance with doctor's orders, and improper use of medication, acne is not treated well, resulting in side effects or serious consequences. Abused hormones include: Pi Yan Ping, Pi Kang Wang, and Uzhuoer, etc. Hormones can stimulate the proliferation of sebaceous glands, causing excessive secretion of sebaceous glands and secondary damage to the skin. Symptoms include: hirsutism, susceptibility to infection, thinning skin, pigmentation, vasodilation, and hormone-dependent dermatitis.
