It is taboo for people with Yin deficiency and Yang excess, true heat and false cold, and pregnant women to take it.

The drug Lu Te Ke Ji was first recorded in "Ben Jing". It is called Lu Te Ke Ji because it grows and develops on Aconitum (mother root). Therefore, it is generally believed that Aconitum is the mother root and Rhizoma Luteariae is the daughter root. But now in Suzhou area, when planting Aconitum, the old roots that were originally planted are not needed for harvesting. Instead, the newly grown tubers are excavated for medicinal value. The Aconitum and Lu Te Technology supplied by pharmacies are actually the same thing, but they are divided into Aconitum and Lu Te Technology because of slightly different preparation methods of traditional Chinese medicine.

Although Lute and Aconitum are the same thing, they are slightly different in clinical medical application due to the slightly different preparation methods of Chinese medicine. It is generally believed that Lute is better for replenishing fire and restoring yang, while Aconitum is better for dispelling cold and relieving pain. Raw aconite, raw Chuanwu, and raw Caowu are all poisonous. They must be processed with Chinese medicine when taken orally, and must be decocted for a long time when used in medicines. The live ones are generally only for external application, but are not suitable for use on damaged skin.

Not long after Empress Xu took the medicine, she felt unwell all over and quickly fell into a coma and died.
