What is genital herpes?

Genital herpes is a sexually transmitted disease with a high recurrence rate, strong infectiousness, and clinically difficult to cure. It often occurs in the penis, scrotum, etc. The affected area of the vulva first has a burning sensation, followed by the development of groups of papules, which may be one or more clusters, followed by the formation of blisters. After a few days, it develops into a pustule, which then breaks to form an erosion or shallow ulcer, causing pain. It eventually scabs and heals on its own. The course of the disease is about 2 to 3 weeks. It is often accompanied by general discomfort, low fever, headache, myalgia and other systemic symptoms. So, what causes genital herpes?

Genital herpes is caused by herpes simplex virus (HSV) infection through unclean sexual life or trauma, and is one of the common sexually transmitted diseases in my country. There are two types of herpes simplex virus: HSV-1 and HSV-2. Genital herpes often causes a heavy psychological burden on patients due to its repeated attacks and the lack of effective drugs to control it, as well as the unbearable burning local pain that even drugs cannot stop. They are afraid of pain, afraid of infecting people they have sexual relations with, unwilling to interact with the opposite sex, causing sexual dysfunction, affecting family harmony, fearing cancer, and even suffering from depression.

The main reasons for the long-term treatment and recurrence of genital herpes are as follows:

1. Irregular treatment, abuse of antibiotics, and drug-resistant viral mutations. The herpes virus itself is difficult to kill. If the medication and treatment are not used properly, not only will there be no effect, but the virus's drug resistance will be aggravated, providing the virus with an opportunity to attach and replicate in the body. The drug's killing effect on the virus is far less than the virus's replication, causing the virus to continue to replicate and mutate, and the population to diversify and become more complex. At the same time, the abuse of antibiotics affects the body's immune function, restricts and affects the treatment process of the disease, and makes the disease recur and difficult to cure. What are the symptoms of genital herpes? What causes genital herpes?

2. The herpes virus has special adhesion properties and is difficult to remove with traditional treatments. The pathogenic virus of genital herpes (herpes simplex virus type 2) lurks in the ganglia, paralyzing the body's immune regulatory function and lying dormant when the body's immune functions are normal. When the body's regulatory function is disordered and the immune function is low, the virus quickly activates and harms tissues and organs. In treatment, it is difficult for drugs to clear the virus from the ganglia, and the damage to the body is also relatively large during treatment.

3. The herpes virus is highly camouflaged and misleads the body's defense function. In order for the drug to be effective, its active ingredients must first enter the blood and then circulate in the blood into the tissue cell fluid. Then, the virus is identified based on its characteristics and combined with it to kill and engulf it. Clinically, it has been shown that after a virus mutates, it can disguise itself so that the body cannot recognize it, or release false signals to avoid being killed by drugs and the immune system. Even if it is cured, it may be a temporary illusion and can easily relapse.
