Emotions refer to a person’s inner mental activities, including joy, anger, worry, thought, sadness, fear, and shock, so they are also called the seven emotions. Under normal circumstances, it falls within the scope of physiological activities and will not cause disease. So where will the internal injuries caused by emotions usually occur?

Emotional injury:

One is that excessive emotions lead to excessive liver regulation, excess liver qi, and upward flow of liver fire, which manifests as symptoms of qi and blood disorder.

The second is worry and depression, which lead to poor liver function and qi blockage, resulting in liver qi stagnation, which manifests as various depression syndromes.

Third, sadness, fear, and excessive thinking can damage the liver qi, leading to liver qi deficiency and manifesting as symptoms such as the liver soul not being stored, the forehead not being used, or the inability to drink qi.

Differentiation of emotional syndrome:

(I) Happy Certificate

Clinical manifestations: constant laughing, restlessness, distraction, lack of concentration, even incoherent speech, abnormal behavior, limb weakness, slow pulse, etc.

(2) Anger

Clinical manifestations: irritability, chest and flank fullness, headache, flushed face and eyes, dizziness, or abdominal distension, diarrhea, even vomiting blood, madness, fainting, red tongue with yellow coating, and strong and stringy pulse.

(III) Worry syndrome

Clinical manifestations: depression, sadness, apathy, chest tightness and flank distension, sighing, insomnia, dizziness, forgetfulness, palpitations, fatigue, loss of appetite, abdominal distension, deep and stringy pulse, etc.

(IV) Grief and Fear Syndrome

Clinical manifestations: easily sad or happy crying, listlessness, fatigue, pale complexion; or timid and easily frightened, fearful and uneasy, palpitations and insomnia, often awakened by nightmares, or even incontinence, or spermatorrhea, impotence, etc.
