Prescription: Gastrodia 9, Uncaria rhynchophylla 15 (added later), Morus alba 15, Gardenia 10, Scutellaria baicalensis 10, Semen Cassiae 15, Polygonum multiflorum 15, Achyranthes bidentata 15, Raw oyster 30 (pre-decocted), Eucommia ulmoides 15, White peony root 12, Leonurus japonicus 15

Treatment principle: replenishing qi, activating blood circulation and unblocking collaterals. Prescription: Astragalus 30, red peony root 15, Chinese angelica 12, Chuanxiong 12, peach kernel 9, safflower 9, scorpion 3, leech 6, earthworm 10, Citrus aurantium 10, Achyranthes bidentata 10

Prescription: Pinellia 10, Atractylodes 15, Gastrodia 10, Acorus 10, Polygala 10, Tangerine Peel 10, Poria 15, Rhizoma Anemarrhenae 15, Citrus Aurantium 10, Licorice 6

2: Banxia Baizhu Tianma Decoction with modifications: 10g of Pinellia, 30g of Atractylodes, 10g of Tianma, 30g of Poria, 12g of Pueraria, 6g of Chuanxiong, 10g of Cassia Twig, 12g of stir-fried White Peony Root, 6g of Licorice, 6g of Cicada Shell, 30g of Millettia Reticulata, 15g each of raw Dragon and Bryanthemum, 15g of Rehmannia Glutinosa, 12g of Asparagus Cochinchinensis, 18g of Dayun (Cistanche). The modified Banxia Baizhu Tianma Decoction is intended to strengthen the spleen and resolve phlegm, tonify the kidney and replenish essence, nourish the brain and unclog the meridians, thus achieving the purpose of relieving vertigo. Take the decoction, one dose a day, for a week.

5. Yin deficiency, Yang hyperactivity, and blood vessel stasis

1: Deficiency of Yin and hyperactivity of Yang, stagnation of blood vessels: dizziness, vertigo, tinnitus, dry mouth, heavy head and light feet, unsteady gait, palpitations and insomnia, numbness of limbs, red and dry tongue with little coating, and thin and stringy pulse. Treatment principle: Nourish Yin, suppress Yang, dredge meridians and remove blood stasis. Prescription: Lycium barbarum 10, chrysanthemum 10, raw rehmannia 15, Ligustrum lucidum 10 (pre-decocted), Eclipta prostrata 10, Cornus officinalis 10, white peony root 15, Salvia miltiorrhiza 15, Achyranthes bidentata 15, tortoise shell 20 (made with vinegar), raw dragon bone 20 each, Millettia reticulata 15
