What are hemorrhoids? What are the classifications of hemorrhoids?

Hemorrhoids are a common and frequently occurring disease unique to humans. According to relevant census data, the incidence rate of anorectal diseases is 59.1%, hemorrhoids account for 87.25% of all anorectal diseases, and internal hemorrhoids are the most common, accounting for 52.19% of all anorectal diseases. So how are hemorrhoids defined?

hemorrhoid

Hemorrhoids (commonly known as hemorrhoids) are a common disease located in the anal area. They can occur at any age, but the incidence rate gradually increases with age. In my country, hemorrhoids are the most common anorectal disease, and there is a saying that "nine out of ten men have hemorrhoids" and "ten out of ten women have hemorrhoids". In the United States, the prevalence of hemorrhoids is approximately 5%. A chronic disease in which the venous plexus under the mucosa of the terminal rectum and the skin of the anal canal expands and bends to form a soft venous mass. Hemorrhoids include internal hemorrhoids, external hemorrhoids, and mixed hemorrhoids. They are vascular tissue located in the anal canal. When they swell or become inflamed, they become pathological or turn into hemorrhoids. In terms of its physiological morphology, it is an anal cushion composed of arteriovenous channels and connective tissue.

Classification of hemorrhoids

Internal hemorrhoids

It is a hemorrhoid that grows at the beginning of the anal canal. It occurs on the tooth line and is covered with mucous membrane on the surface. It is usually invisible. The stool may or may not fall out of the anus. When it falls out, it may be reduced spontaneously or artificially. It is often accompanied by blood in the stool.

external hemorrhoids

If the swollen veins are located further down, almost on the anal opening, these varicose veins are called external hemorrhoids. They are formed by a special venous plexus, below the dentate line, covered with skin on the surface, visible, and cannot be pushed back into the anus. They rarely bleed, and most patients with external hemorrhoids have internal hemorrhoids.

Mixed hemorrhoids

It crosses above and below the dentate line and has the characteristics of both internal and external hemorrhoids.

Cause of pain: When thrombosis occurs, the blood in the hemorrhoids coagulates into lumps, causing pain.

Causes of attack:

Usually when you continue to exert force during bowel movements, the pressure in the veins here increases repeatedly, causing the veins to swell. During pregnancy, women often develop hemorrhoids due to compression of the pelvic veins, which impedes blood circulation. Many obese people also suffer from hemorrhoids.

Hemorrhoids are more common in people who stand frequently or sit for long periods of time.
