Collaterals are distributed throughout the human body. According to their distribution locations, they can be divided into yang collaterals and yin collaterals. Yang collaterals are distributed on the skin, while yin collaterals are distributed in the internal organs. When the collaterals are blocked, diseases will occur. Let’s learn more about it! The collaterals are unobstructed and diseases will not occur The blood running in the collaterals nourishes the skin and mucous membranes through the yang collaterals on the body surface, and nourishes the body's muscles, bones, and internal organs through the yin collaterals inside the body. Similarly, the meridian Qi running in the Qi channels, on the one hand, forms a barrier outside the human body through the Yang channels on the body's surface, protecting the body from external pathogenic factors; on the other hand, it adjusts and controls the functions of muscles, bones, and internal organs through the Yin channels in the body, keeping the interior of the human body in a balanced, harmonious, and stable state. Under the joint action of the Qi channels and blood channels, the human body is in a state of "external peace and internal harmony." If the human body is in a state of "external peace and internal harmony", various external and internal pathogenic factors will have no chance to take advantage, and the human body will maintain a healthy state. Therefore, human health is based on the unobstructed collaterals. Only when the collaterals are unobstructed can the meridian Qi and blood flow normally to every part of the human body, thereby playing the role of regulating, controlling and nourishing the human body and ensuring human health. Diseases caused by blocked collaterals Under normal circumstances, the collaterals are unobstructed. If foreign pathogens invade the human body and heat toxins damage the body's yang collaterals, the body's ability to resist pathogens will decrease, the regulatory and control functions will become abnormal, and colds and fevers will occur. If the pathogenic factors further invade the yin meridians and the heat toxins remain in the lung meridians, it will cause pneumonia; if the heart meridians are damaged, it will cause myocarditis; if the kidney meridians are damaged, it will cause nephritis. Under normal circumstances, the yin meridians circulating in the internal organs are also unobstructed. The unobstructed flow of the Yin meridians ensures the normal functioning of the internal organs of the human body, and thus prevents visceral diseases. If the Yin meridians are damaged due to invasion of external evil, emotional disorders, trauma, etc., causing stagnation of meridian Qi, the coordination and balance of the internal organs will be disrupted, and the information transmission, regulation and control functions will become abnormal. For example, if the liver meridian qi is stagnant, it will cause distension in the ribs; if the spleen meridian qi is stagnant, the abdomen will be full and full after eating and the person will be unable to eat; if the brain meridian qi is stagnant, irritability and anxiety will occur; if the limb meridian qi is stagnant, numbness, soreness and pain in the limbs will occur. If the stagnation of Qi in the collaterals is not treated in time, it will develop into obstruction of the collateral vessels. The most likely result of obstruction of the collateral vessels is obstruction of blood circulation in the vascular system and insufficient blood and oxygen supply to the internal organs. If the brain collaterals are blocked, cerebral arteriosclerosis, dizziness and headache will occur; if the heart collaterals are blocked, coronary artery sclerosis, insufficient blood supply to the myocardium, chest tightness and pain will occur. The collateral vessels can also cause spasm due to fatigue, excessive emotional excitement and other reasons. Cerebral artery dysfunction can cause a short-term interruption of blood supply to the brain, resulting in dizziness, blackouts, and even numbness of half the body and slurred speech. Heart artery dysfunction can mainly cause angina pectoris, often accompanied by chest tightness, shortness of breath, palpitations and sweating. The further development of collateral vessels on the basis of blood stasis and spasm may lead to collateral vessel obstruction, that is, the collateral vessels are completely blocked, blood cannot pass through, and information cannot be transmitted. Blockage of cerebral vessels can lead to cerebral thrombosis, hemiplegia, and speech impairment; blockage of heart vessels can cause myocardial infarction, and if not treated in time, it can be life-threatening. Therefore, collateral vessel lesions can cause various diseases, and unblocking the collaterals can treat many diseases. |
