What is the difference between urticaria and hives?

Urticaria and hives are both skin diseases, but there are essential differences between urticaria and hives. The main reason is that measles is an infectious disease and is contagious, while urticaria is not contagious.

In fact, in essence, both urticaria and measles should be treated seriously. Measles is a disease that, once cured, will not recur in most populations. However, urticaria is a disease that will recur repeatedly once the patient comes into contact with allergens. Sometimes, urticaria may occur multiple times in a single day. So relatively speaking, these two diseases each have their own characteristics and their own areas that should be paid attention to.

Measles patients are mostly isolated during the illness because of their high contagiousness, and they will experience drowsiness during the illness. Even during the course of the disease, there may be symptoms similar to those of upper respiratory tract diseases. However, during the course of urticaria, all symptoms appear on the surface of the skin.

For example, when urticaria occurs, a red edema reaction will appear on the skin. At this time, the red and swollen lump will be accompanied by severe itching symptoms. Measles symptoms generally target the patient's internal conditions, and will manifest externally as erythematous rashes all over the body. However, urticaria will disappear in about half an hour after the rash appears. And the prognosis is that no signs of the disease can be found on the skin surface.

To sum up, the difference between urticaria and hives is clearly shown to everyone. Therefore, when you are unable to distinguish whether it is urticaria or measles, you can refer to the above analysis of the patient's symptoms, and then provide targeted symptomatic treatment. I believe that you will recover your health soon.
